Comparing AWS DynamoDB with Azure Cosmos DB 

I would like to see your take on data modeling NOSQL, when to separate documents vs embed and when to add new Container.

Great comparison video. I've used both extensively and still learned some things from this video! A couple small things to point out: 1) DynamoDB also has a serverless mode called On Demand billing that was released several years back. It is superior to CosmosDB serverless in my opinion because it has been out and stable for some time now (Cosmos serverless is currently in preview) and it doesn't have the 5k RU limit that serverless cosmos currently has. 2) Authentication models are quite different. Dynamo supports IAM integration, but Cosmos does not (yet) support RBAC authentication. This means that you are currently forced to pass secret keys around in your app to access CosmosDB.

"DynamoDBs SKD is..." *Pause* "Bad" No better way to describe it, its not a pleasant experience. I have only worked with the node SDK. The update methods and parameters in node are a real time waster, its incredibly unintuitive and requires a some trial and error before you can wrap your head around how to make it work dynamically. Sounds like its not much better in C#. In my most recent project we are checking out dynamoose for node, it makes it a little bit better. I have yet to try out using partition keys and sort keys for the sudo-joining of "tables"/models as you talked about. I have read about it, it sounds really interesting and I would love to see your take on it!

Would like to learn more about data modeling and event sourcing especially wrt cosmos.

Is there an equivalent to AWS DataStore which is an offline first feature where data is saved and queried on the local device - synching to the cloud happens in the background, trying to use it but synching to the cloud seems to break very easily.
