@@WestlehSeyweldthe style is what makes the guitar sound like it fits in the pocket if I play aggressive rock on a classical guitar is it gonna represent that guitar appropriately?
@@sky_4083It's a strat with full tele hardware and neck. I'm not sure if there are any other ones but they sold them under the name of "parallel universe Stratocaster"
Kurt did use the Jaguar quite a bit, but he's gone on record saying the Mustang was his favorite guitar. In a '91 interview with guitar world, he said: “But out of all the guitars in the whole world, the Fender Mustang is my favourite. I’ve only owned two of them.” Still a great video though, keep it up, I love your stuff and you're an amazing player.
Although he toured with mostly the mustang, iirc a lot of the recording the Nevermind and in utero recordings are believed to have been done using a modded/boutique jaguar he receievd.
Jimmy Page used mostly a Les Paul or his double necked SG. Only early on in his career with the yardbirds did he mostly use a telecaster and he used it sometimes in the studio.
For the majority of studio recordings he used a tele. He only used a les Paul for live performances mostly because he found the sound and the humbuckers worked better live
He's using position 4 on the Strat and the neck pickup on the Tele. If he'd used the neck pickup on the Strat they would've sounded almost identical lol
@@Big_betty2 no only the first Zeppelin album was recorded mostly with a Telecaster, the second and third album was recorded with a mix of guitars like his No. 1 Les Paul, the Black Beauty Les Paul Custom and his 12-string along with the Tele, then he used it on the Stairway solo and then he never used the Tele again, so he uses it on like 15 songs out of the band's 100 bruh
That Jaguar sounds amazing, warm and clean tone.. to answer your question, I would say each had a good ear for the guitar they needed for their style..
I love the way you have crafted your picking Style. It's so unique and it flows and looks so nice. And as always you're an amazing player and awesome to listen to
He's the lead guitarist for one of the most influential and popular rock bands of all time... a good guitarist isn't just about complexity, Cobain created extremely catchy melodies
@@asthenx7922humanity still debates whether it was lead guitarist or rhythm guitarist position however it still doesn’t deny the fact that guitar artistry is not only about technique, but also about devotion to music in general.
Jaguar, no hesitation The sound is perfecly round, and the mic selector wont switch if you move too much I think this is why it was Cobain's favorite ❤
All three played different set up for different sounds some cleaner some for distortion some for grime and sabbath like guitar grown. Depends what you wanna play which axe you pick up
i like the first, but the guitars are the basis of the mold of the song. each guitar fills sound differently, and the most isolated noises would work way better with different amp settings and melodies
He played the Tele and jag in the bridge pickup and the start in the neck pickup so obviously there’s going to be a different when you play them in different pickup positions
This actually have never seen a jaguar with only single coil pickups in my life. I swear every guitar this guy has is just modded to be a strat it’s nuts.
I feel like the telecaster is more of a lighter sound for this riff whilst the Stratocaster is more jazzy and the jaguar is more of a fuller sounding guitar, love them all though
Kurt used the Jaguar a lot but it was only for the Nevermind era (91-92) but he also used Mustangs for most of his career (he had one in either 89 or 90 but smashed it, he got the Competition Mustang in 91 and used it up until 93 when recording In Utero when he then used his Skystang and Oranj-Stang Mustangs until his untimely passing)
The competition mustang wasn't used much live actually. Only a few shows during their US tour til he smashed it in Texas then a couple in 92. He used the Jaguar from Nevermind all the way into August 93. The mustangs he's most associated for was during the In Utero period but that lasted approximately 7 months or so
