In today's video, we compare five different types of threads for cross stitching - DMC, Anchor, Paxcoo, CXC, and Sulky. Rhona is given a thread to stitch with, but she doesn't know which thread is what brand. From there, she has to guess which thread is what brand.
Rhona's face is HYSTERICAL when she learns which thread is which... :)
For reference, Eirinn usually stitches with Paxcoo threads, while Rhona usually stitches with DMC. However, we think all of these threads are really great options for stitchers.
Here are the brands we talk about:
Sulky: amzn.to/3juYaWz
Paxcoo: amzn.to/3Ai5ueV
CXC: amzn.to/3fG6Acz
DMC: amzn.to/2VBKYH6
Anchor: amzn.to/2X44AVf
(Note: The links above are affiliate links. Thank you for your support!)
What threads do you like to use? Have you tried all 5 of these types? Let us know your thoughts below on what brand you like best and why!
And, don't forget to visit our website, www.tangledthr..., to take a look at our latest free charts!
Happy stitching!
Eirinn and Rhona

Hi Kathy! Thank you so much for your kind words! We are hoping to upload at least one video a week. It's a lot of fun for us to get together and chat all about stitching. Do you have a favorite floss you like to use? Any different ones from the ones we compared that you would recommend? :)

Hi Felicia! We just subscribed to your channel as well. I absolutely adore "Mouse Potato Designs" as a name - how did that come to be your design name? :) Looking forward to watching more of your flosstube videos!

That was fun to watch. I think I would be able to find the Anchor and DMC but if I would know which one is which, not sure. Sulky is easy as it is round. And the others are more fuzzy but would not know the difference of brands. Happy Stitching 🧵💜

Thanks for playing along with us! It was a lot of fun for us, too - I'm surprised Rhona was so sure about the DMC. I've switched to stitching with Anchor this week just because. It's nice to be able to play around with different threads! Happy stitching! :)

That was fun. I haven't heard of those first two. Would love to know what you think of Cosmo, Colour n Cotton, and Sullivan compared to DMC and Anchor...stitched like this. Thx!

Ooooh what a great idea! I've mentioned this to Rhona and we will absolutely add this to the video list that we'll do. Out of those that you mentioned - do you have a favorite? I haven't stitched with any of them, but I'm sure Rhona has! - Eirinn

That was fun! Who knew that there was such a difference in thread, except when working with silk or special threads. Where are you ladies from? Your videos are great! Happy Stitching!

Right?! We had no idea! It was fun to sit down and try these out back-to-back. Do you have any silk or special threads you'd recommend we try? And we're from Scotland but now living in the USA! Where are you from? Happy stitching, Becki!!! :)

I live in Reno Nevada, I have just my journey with silks and have only done one small Halloween project using all black silk from Splendor. I used 2 strands on a Havana colored linen 30ct and it was a little to thick I thought , but it was my first time to use silk and I really liked the look it gave me. The next time I use silk I will use 1 strand . Really enjoy your videos.
