I'm glad the Mars 4 came out, it forced Anycubic to drop the price of the D2 to around $450. Competition is good.

Thanks I’ve been looking for this! I was able to snag a D2 crazy cheap around $360 which is basically the same price as the sale for Phrozen mini 8ks. What’s your thoughts comparing the two? I went with the DLC because of the money saved. I would love your input. Also have preorder placed for Saturn 3 I think im going to return now for $400

I am also SO glad to see this comparison , I was pretty close to want to get the D2 especially it recently went on sale. I’m so looking forward to see the prints, then I’ll see if I’m really going to get the Elegoo DLP instead of the D2, according to you the Mars4 does seem like a better choice so far. This video is a huge help 👍👍👍👍👍👍 .

Can anyone please confirm if the Mars 4 DLP supports an exposure time of below 1.0s? I am using the 3Dmaterials SuperFast resins on a Creality Halot Sky and recently found out its software/firmware does not do

One thing that no one seems to be talking about is the open source file format of the Mars 4 DLP. I for one want as little to do with chitubox as possible. Any words on the support this file format has in other slicers?

@@al-oh8fq the Photon D2’s effective resolution is 2560 x 1440 pixels. It doesn’t actually have that many pixels (mirrors) at its disposal. The DMD chip inside is the same 1280 x 720 unit found in the Photon Ultra, just with the extra stuff to let it shift the pixels.

@@Farmerwal Whow that's news for me! so it does 1280 x 720 and then shifts few microns left and does 1280 x 720 again. to achieve 2560 x 1440 in total. and what about Mars DLP? does it have 1280 x 720 DMD too?

It's the width of the small printers thats shit. If they were 120x120 it would be a lot better. I've had a photon since 2019. Printed tonnes of stuff. I hate the 74mm width.
