In this lecture we extend the idea of using the linear model to compare group means by looking at models in which a categorical predictor is combined with a continuous predictor. This model is sometimes called analysis of covariance (ANCOVA) but is a special case of the GLM. We consider the model, and how group means adjusted fro the covariate, are now compared by the model parameters (b). We discuss homogeneity of regressions lopes, Type I and III sums of squares, and robust models too.
