Can you do a video talking about how you secured a position as a foreigner attending an American university to securing employment at your current line of work?
This is so helpful, as I’m looking to apply to top 10 mba programs and matriculate in 2027 (3 years work experience) or 2028 (4 years work experiences)
@@AhBoyInUSA thank you! would you recommend that I matriculate earlier or later? how’d you make that decision? I feel I’d be ready earlier as I’ve started my first job on the buy side and ultimately want to continue within early stage investing, and just the fact that time passes differently for me so 3 years feels like a long time lol
I think it will work out for u either way. 4 years+ work experience is more common in my cohort but I have seen 3 years as well. Note for some hiring companies 3 years exp is the minimum requirement
How are the risks (e.g. after 3-year OPT where we need to go back to our home country) for us Asians who don't have work authorization in the US? and what are your recommendations to mitigate them?
I think most ppl during OPT period will apply for H1B, H1B lotteries are kind of hit or miss. There are companies who help to apply green card as well, usually after you work for a certain period of time. In the event none of these works some companies might allow you to work in a different country's office. I would recommend talk to alumni and research on each company's policy and how supportive they are
