I believe both Naturium and Prequel are related to the Los Angeles based Brand Accelerator company called The Center. Though Naturium was bought out by E.L.F. so that may no longer apply. My favorite Naturium products are their Glo Getter Multi Oil to gel wash and its accompanying Body Butter as well as their Glycolic body wash The Smoother. For Prequel the Gleanser is fantastic. I use it every day in some way or another. I also find myself using the hypochlorous spray and the utility ointment every day. Her barrier cream is also very nice As a brand overall I would definitely choose Prequel over Naturium. Not a huge fan of Susan Yara tbh but I love Dr Ellis.
I like both brands very much! The reason why Naturium has so many products is because they address every single skin type and every single skincare concern. I think that’s pretty fantastic since not everyone has the same skin. They also have a routine builder on their website that it will ask you a few questions and then recommend a skincare routine with a few products.
Oh for sure! I love both too but my point was even with the routine builder the sheer number of products is overwhelming. Kinda like when you go on The Ordinary’s page. They account for everything but it’s A LOT
Such a great idea to compare similar products from similarly positioned brand. Especially as both also are pretty new to brick and mortar stores as well. Prequel is new to Target and Naturium is very new to Ulta. I have been wondering about both at the same time, specifically the Glenser vs niacinamide cleanser. One thing I’ve heard from the Chemist Confessions podcast and RU-vid channel is that ceramides are in their best percentage with thicker creams as the ingredient itself is hard to incorporate into formulas as it likes to stay in its natural form. So that could be a reason for the thickness of the naturium cream.
I find that the Glenser makes a fantastic hand soap and keeps my hands moisturized and not stripped. I however do not use it on my face as I find the texture a little "slimy" for my liking.
I am a huge fan of Naturium and needed a change in my skincare routine. I just bought the cleanser and moisturizer that you just mentioned and thank you so much for your review ❤
I definitely agree that naturium has too many products (especially cause a lot of them feel unnecessary), but I don't think the fast fashion comparison is necessarily fair. The issue with fast fashion and one of the major aspects of it is that fast fashion makes extemely low quality products, which naturium doesn't. Other than that, I definitely agree about prequel being a great brand with much better value!
I personally like both brands. Not all brands can be the same so I like the variety. The cleansers are my two personal favorites. I wish I could try the prequel sunscreen but unfortunately for my brown skin it may leave a white cast… and I don’t want to have to go through the hassle of paying for shipping for a return
The gleaner and urea advanced moisturizer are meant for face and body while the naturium ones are only meant for face so I wouldn’t compare the two based on size at all when 99% of face moisturizers are 1.7 oz unless its targeted toward body or face and body.
Very good comparison! Like both of these brands. I’m so glad we are finally getting some quality and less expensive skincare. That being said, I do like the quantity and variety of choices of Naturium products😅. Each of their body washes suit a different concern, and I love their soothing wash, especially considering it’s a huge amount for 16 dollars. Really like the prequel vitamin c, but my skin can only handle it once per week.
I agree that Naturium has a product for pretty much everyone, but I sometimes feel like you need a PhD to know which to get 😅 and I definitely like both brands too!
What skin type would you say the prequel barrier therapy is best for? & price/value aside, prequel barrier cream vs Naturium ceramide, which texture do you prefer & why ?
Honestly the barrier therapy is good for all skin types if you’re using it at night. That’s a hard question, bc I don’t find the texture of either to be unique or stand-outs. Maybe the Naturium by a hair
I’d be interested in a comparison between the Prequel Barrier Therapy Cream and the FAB Ultra Repair Cream or whatever it’s called, the one that has oatmeal in it?
I agree that Naturium's single-ingredient products are a bit overkill and there's A LOT of redundancy in the line. multiple products in the same category that do the same thing, single ingredients that come in both a serum and a cream and a product for every exfoliant under the sun. It's too much
I believe I mentioned that it can be overwhelming bc you have SOOOO many options. I love Naturium for a lot of things, but they do have A LOT of products. I don’t think there’s any denying that
I am proud to say that I have NOT purchase any products from Naturium. I personally do NOT support this brand because of their shady founder. I might give Prequel a try.
@@DanaRipperton it just makes it and allround creme. Facial skin it more sensitiv then the rest of the body, and bodycreams Can be more strong and for some to strong for the face. And prequel urea fine for both face and body 👍
I think that's one of the things that goes into price. Ingredients cost a certain amount to source and the number of them in a product and what the ingredient is will change things. Prequels new barrier gel and balm are only 1.7 ounces I think and they're $18 and $20. Face and body products tend to cost less vs. just face products. :)
