Great vid. Transitioning from a savage 21 to electric after being out of the hobby for a while. I was really hyped over the savage xs flux for speed, HPI durability, etc...... but lhs HPI car/truck availability and parts availability and the uncertainty of HPIs future..... left me with a difficult decision. Your video along with a few other basher videos..... made the big rock blx a no brainer. Thanks for all you do! Love the truck so far!
Good video man. I'm converting my Granite into a senton at the end of the week if my parts arrive. My first RC ever was the granite two months ago. Such a fun fun machine. I found a local clay track I need the sentons length and bumpers. I'm getting different tires all together same sizes as senton but clay grip. I didn't realize the crew cab was essentially this. I thought I was woke when I put down the red cat at my hobby shop seeing the Arrma line lol.
From one Georgian to another, I love your videos! Very good info with good comparisons for different rigs. I've been watching a lot of your videos, as well as quite a few others, and I'm SOLD on the Arrma rigs. Just trying to decide which one! I've narrowed it down to, in no particular order, the Senton, Big Rock, or Typhon. I'd love to see a video similar to this one but with the Typhon added. And maybe you could even make a longer Arrma comparison video, with a table top portion, a paved portion, and a good off-road portion. That way we could see the mechanical difference as well as how those things translate to the actual driving experience over different types of terrain. It seems that most RC car videos these days are focused on crazy air, and what appears to be a concerted effort to break the cars. And while I know that is a great way of testing durability, I'd like to see more about how they handle over varied terrain and not just huge jumps. I have the remnants of my daughter's dirtbike track in my back yard and plan to revive it as an RC track. No crazy jumps... just more of an outdoor version of a short course track with switch backs, straightaways, and smaller jumps. Just trying to figure out which of the Arrma cars would be best suited to that application.
Loving all these trucks can't go wrong with the one you choose price wise it's a win win situation just add upgraded parts with a powerful batteries with charger it's a plus 🙏🙏🙏🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲💪💪💪
The narrower (than Granite) BigRock tires are nice! Will they fit the Senton without body cutting? I know you need to cut the Senton body for the Granite tires tho.
Thanks JT, now I know what I want. I want the Big Rock with larger tires and a Granite like body! [I'm probably the only person who watches your videos and doesn't like the looks of the BR body.] But if I were to choose one now it would definitely be the Granite.
Which ever you buy your still going to want the others hahaha The big rock is the best everyday basher, Senton can’t be compared to a slash they are the best hardcore shortcourse truck you can get. Granite well I’ve only sorry my sons only got the brushed version so looking forward to the 6 year old stepping up to brushless at Xmas. Arrma is just in a league of their own!! Arrmagettin me some more hahaha
Hey Jay.... I've watched all your relevant videos. Awesome work and very helpful! I love that the Granite is faster than the Rustler 4x4! Can you please tell me if Big Rock is a better performer than the Granite BLX? these seem to be reviewed by you in close succession... are they for different purposes? Which would be faster out of the box and more capable for controlled bashing (like your skate park bashing).
so ya sold me on the big rock. I finally took it out. I lasted 2 mins before crashing into mail box. off flew a front tire. Its like a 5 dollar part I broke, but gona have to wait a while as parts an now even the trucks are on back order, but ya might of just sold me on a senton I could race around an indoor track an use one of them for a parts car since it looks like there interchangable. Nice video an Thankyou
Senton i got granite tires with the 15 pinion wow its sweet just got to trim the body for the wheels i ran it with the 20 pinion ran great butt need more low end for the bigger tires
so glad i found your channel when i bought after i bought my first rc. i have 2 senton mega one converted to brushless. i am in the looks for another i would love a senton 3s but... keep looking at the big rock or a kraton 4s.... but i am stuck on my senton lol don't care much for racing just some yard fun with the kids. but wanna go 3s or 4s i've watched alot of your vids and just stuck...
Great video, thanks mate.. I've recently got a senton 3s, I love it but have been thinking about putting bigger tyres on it since I got it.. I'm thinking granite wheels would be perfect for giving me a bit more ground clearance and hopefully also a bit more stability
Not related to your video, but any truth to using WD40 on plastic parts to keep them from getting brittle and help reduce cracking? I've seen a few people who say they use it on their RC's. Pros/Cons if true? Nice comparison video btw.
I think alot of these parts are made of a glass fill delrin. As far as I remember from my days in a mold shop.... this material is incredibly strong and wear resistant with even some chemical resistances. I don't know if there is anything we can to to lengthen their life aside from avoiding extreme high temps which will A. Make them brittle and B. Make them release toxic fumes, as well as crush avoidance... :p especially extreme low temp crashes...... WD will clean them up and make them shine like new again. Just remember, WD is water soluble and will actually attract moisture into areas you might originally have been trying to protect from corrosion....
Hey Jay, I want to buy the granite or big rock. Which one do you think I should buy? I like a lot granite's wheelies, jumps and tricks but I think I can convert big rock easier
Thanx for the comp. Im not into jumping or hard bashing cuz im cheap ha but wich would be best for street ripping. Straight up speed, cornering and acceleration on pavement? I know the talion and typhon is specifically made for what i want but im looking for a cheaper alternative.
Wassup jay tee✌ nice starting line up 👊 finally just got thru driving my new granite and senton 3s blx both very nice it seems my senton is a little faster than the granite, your granite seems faster than mine on your 3s speed test, i bought power hobby 5200mah 50c do you think i need to break it in more run it more or maybe up the punch on the settings thanks
I love tge big rock. It's kinda look more stunning to me then the others two. Mine big rock rc is on it's way. Can't wait to play it while this lockdown😋
Good comparison! I’m about to get my first Arrma. I’m torn between the big rock and the granite but really only because I like the big rock body. Any reason that body won’t work on the granite? I really enjoy your vids!
Thank you thank you thank you. I'm getting one of these for myself with a brushed 4x4 granite for my son. Have you done a breakdown of parts needed to upgrade the brushed 4x4 to compare to these?
Hey dude just what i needed to make my descision. Looked at all these RCs and Im gonna choose the Senton 3s and If i need it to be more like a Monster truck the option is always there. I do have one question. if I want to put a wheelie bar on the Senton will I be able to do it. And more will I ever need them? Loved the video! I will def look at more of your videos!
Hey @JayTee RC, Ive been watching your vids for a while and I want to say I truly enjoy them. I do have one question should I get the Big Rock or the Senton?
