fun fact : the beluga is actually a bit smaller than the original atlas model, also the powercell pods in this design (completely different development team) are considered cooling pods lorewise
Ahhh, I had a feeling it was smaller too, the concept art before we officially saw it in game made it look and sound gigantic but I’m sure gameplay wise if a sub that big was in the game it probably wouldn’t transfer well into subnautica’s gameplay
The fact that the Beluga is finally in game is something that I thought would never happen. It's a little sad that they weren't able to get their hands on the actual model but their homemade one still looks very good.
Beluga carrying both vehicles is a game changer for me, seal is also as far as i can see is more buggy compared to beluga. Also you can fit beluga through most of the spaces a cyclops can fit but seal cant fit through many places because of its girth
For me Seal wins on scanner room and interface at the helm. Beluga wins on pretty much all the other stuff. Objectively docking on Seal is good, but subjectively I love the "drop down" docking stations on Moonpool/Cyclops/Beluga.
Interesting take! Fun fact, I’m really into Jets, military vehicles in general and the Sr-71 is one of my favorite vehicles of all time, such a sleek and unique look and the history behind it is also awesome too
@@Crimxsen same with me, I have personally seen the beast in person at a nasa facility as the SR-71 was also used to test high speed and high altitude aeronautical research
@@Tyshamu That sounds like an awesome experience and jet to see up close, I still need to go to the museum at some point so I can see it up close as well, I think the coolest part about it is that it’s one of the few Jets that’s operated while throughout its entire service never being shot down, only ever was downed because of Mechanical issues and things of that nature
The reason why the SEAL is better for a modded playthrough and the Beluga for a “vanilla” playthrough is because the Beluga can only hold vanilla vehicles and the SEAL can hold modded vehicles like the Odyssey, Wraith, etc.
Agreed. The SEAL is way more versatile and better coded to allow ALL vehicles in its vehicle bays. As it stands, the Beluga is BUGGY AF right now, just check out how many pages of bug reports they have - 7 pages, I believe. NOT GOOD!
Seeing these new submarine bods make me wish it was possible to download vehicle mods on to use on other systems. Or even that the Atlas was finished, even if scaled down from the original size. These all look way too good.
Don't hold your breath on any update from FCS. They've been promising that an update is "coming soon" since 2022 - yeahhh, TWO YEARS later and there STILL isn't an update. At this point, FCS is a dead mod. Just play it in Legacy to enjoy its splendor.
I love the Beluga but i prefer the Atlas more because i really like the escape pods the size i guess can be a bit bigger maybe in between of beluga and atlas also for the power cells i think it should be at the back like special design of powercell insert
@@OPODRAO Nono, the seal can hold either the prawn suit or the seamoth in the same bay/area, the atlas can hold both at the same time but in different areas/bays
Inside the seal sub you can build crazy things, just like a real base, I am not going to spoil it for you, all I suggest is doing a little more experimenting to try everything it the habitat builder
@@ilaycohen6978Oh lol trust me I know! I have an entire video dedicated to touring a Seal submarine I customized entirely from the docking bay to the bridge, it looked awesome when I was finished with it, if you build it right you can easily use the seal submarine for virtually everything in the game, like a all in one type of mobile base
@@ilaycohen6978 I don’t think I knew that lol, though that seems kinda broken? Like you’re saying you can actually build the nuclear and bio reactor within the Seal? I’ve gotta try that it sounds awesome (Edit) I just went back and tried it out, that’s sick, I never knew that till now lol and it’s like my 3rd time talking about this mod in a video, thank you! :)
Massive hot take: I don’t like it when you can put whatever modules you want in your sub and never run out of space. I like having to choose what modules to use depending on my mission, and being limited instead of just throwing all of them in.
@@MaxWirtz-j4h The alien feces right? You just need to head over to the Sea Treader’s path and as the sea treaders walk around they occasionally stop to drop alien feces and you can pick it up! :)
That mod and Call of the Void in General still isn't finished yet nor is it out for the public unfortunately, I also don't have access to the Hydra sub mod either way lol and I'm not sure how to access the demo either, but whenever it comes out fully and such I'll definitely be covering it though! :)
You gotta Join the SEAL Sub Mod creator's discord, when you're in there you'll find the download link to the mod there! (I've linked their discord in the description however if the link doesn't work or you run into issues feel free to let me know and I'll do my best to help!)
I built the Beluga last night and it was partially created/bugged by the game. It looks partially destroyed and nothing works. I saved the game immediately after I created it so now I'm stuck with a brick in game after farming resources for 2 hours. Does anyone know how to fix this? Is there a cheat to dismiss/summon it? Or am I left to destroy it and start over?
The other two comments were already pretty helpful helpful but I wanted to add that if worst case scenario comes you may just have to destroy it using the “explode beluga” command which will destroy the closest beluga
