Regarding the speaker and microphone I mentioned, Dwarf Lab has told me that it's designed for voice control down the road, and they've recently put together an interface that's aiming to enable it through a firmware upgrade in the future. This means we'll be able to talk to the DWARF 3, and it will do what we ask. However, they don't have a specific date for when this feature will be available.

Nice video... I like the EQ option for longer exposures. It will be interesting to see if ZWO redesigns their SeeStar with a better sensor and EQ abilities. A friend and I got started with SeeStars and then moved on to the AM5, ASIAIR, and larger refractors. We've learned about Siril image processing from you, Nico, Laura, and Cuiv. Thanks for what you do, Michael

Just last week I had to choose between dwarf 3 and seestar and decided on the Dwarf because I also want to do birdwatching and terrestrial stuff, and it seems to be the clear choice if used for dual purpose.

Maybe no swappable Battery isn't too bad. You can buy a battery of any size. And you can "switch" batteries without turning off the unit. Going through that calibration process is time consuming so that's nice. Still makes me wonder, how will you find a place to hook up the battery bank?

Thanks! Mega pixel is derived from the resolution. So (3840x2160)/1000000000 = 8.29 mega pixels, and it's the same for both units.

Wait, why does the Dwarf 2 even have a wide-field lens / camera if you can’t take video or pictures with it? 🤔 Anyway, the Dwarf 3 looks very interesting. I’m looking forward to seeing some images with it. I’ve looked into the Seestar, but the lack of resolution (2.1 MP) is a real downer for me. The 4K (8 MP) in the Dwarf 3 is much better if it can produce good images. I wonder how long we’ll need to wait for a Seestar revision?

Can you please do Dwarf 3 vs S50! I have a D2. I love it, its a powerful little tool that's wildly portable. But with the new D3's out I was ready to purchase one. THey seem night and day better than the 2, But once again I am stuck at whether or not the S50 is a good alternative. I'd like to see some side by sides.

It's still laughable. 😂 Ok, if you are a complete beginner and want a simple setup it's ok. But any real amateur astronomer would want more value for money, more aperture, and a more modular approach. The software looks promising and maybe in future this type of scope will become commonplace, but i would recommend waiting until they bring out at least a 100mm objective lens version with options to upgrade all the components as required.

They're not trying to get people to give up their traditional rig for a smart scope. There are plenty of reasons why someone would consider this and other smart scopes. Kids, out reach, seniors who can't setup their equipment any longer, those who are interested in the hobby but can't afford the traditional setup, etc. And although making it modular may sound like a good idea, I think it would also take away from the ease of use.
