A showdown...within a showdown! I'm testing and comparing two very cheap Giorgione watercolor palettes to see if a $5 difference really makes a difference! Go on, take a bet- which palette do you think is gonna be better, blue or pink?

The Kokuyo Camlin 18 and 24 sets come in 5ml tubes. I have seen 12 tube sets in both 5ml and 20ml. There are a total of 48 colors in their line, and the other 24 colors are sold in 20ml tubes only in India (from what I can gather). I have recently bought some open stock tubes on EBay from India. Hopefully I will receive them. These watercolors are absolutely lovely and I am so pleased with the price point. The first time I purchased these watercolors I payed double the price. The second time I paid $9.97 on Amazon for the 24 set. Now, they are selling for $13.80 which I feel are well worth it. I have a lot of watercolor brands (student and professional) made in the US and abroad, and these are among my top favorites. They mix very well, do not get muddy and conforms to ASTM D 4236 and are Non-toxic. The Yellow Ochre and Raw Sienna are very close in color which was odd, and they do have a strong chemical smell when first pored from the tubes, which I can understand would turn a lot of people off. However in my opinion, these paints perform nicer dried in a palette and after several days, the smell does dissipate. The tubes in this set have a lightfast rating of A and B ( A-Absolutely Permanent, B-Permanent). I have read many reviews that have glowing remarks on their lightfastness. I personally have never did a lightfast test. Another down side is there is no pigment information. However, if you are looking for a very nice inexpensive watercolor and you are a beginner, student or professional, regardless of the smell, these are definitely worth it. They are very enjoyable to paint with. Don’t bother with the student/kids brand. They did not have good reviews and since the professional brand are so inexpensive I would just stick with them.

Thank you for the very informative review. Two reviews at the same time yet you kept it flowing without mixing me up as to which set you were talking about at any given time. I think you have reviewed some much better student grade paints like the superior line so I am not going to pick a set from these two. Thanks again for such helpful reviews.

thanks for this review. i was thinking of getting the pink one since it's getting promoted a lot on tiktok in my country at the moment. 10 dollars for a good watercolour pallete seemed too good to be true. after this review ive decided on getting none of the giorgione palletes shown 😭. its better if i invest in a high quality one in the future instead of going for cheap ones 🙃 good review!

God i can tell u work so freaking hard! Tysm for the absolutely amazing and helpful review, im now gonna order the blue set. At first i was gonna go with the cheeper giorgione set and i also did a whole lot of researching but found that no one has really reviewed the giorgione set but THAN i found ur vid it maked a difference and halped me decide between the two pallets! The cheaper one for some reason was attracting me but oh well! But again tysm keep up the hard work, you just earned an other subscriber.😉

Interesting video for sure! I haven't seen many people use them. I got the blue tin set on yesstyle ages ago. I sometimes like the super synthetic look and reused pigment with varying degrees of some sort of filler. They're magically uneven 🤣I put magnets on the pans and threw out the plastic insert.

hey Becca glad to see you looking looking good. I have been enjoying your student grade showdown. I enjoy using student grade art supplies mainly because it is mostly sold in my country. what do you plan to do with all those paint that you bought. I usually regift but art stash is overwhelming.

I wonder if Gergione might be related to Bianyo as their logos look almost identical. Bianyo does wonderful alcohol markers, their 72 brush set has foam rubber nibs (or they did anyway in their old sets.) Honestly I think it's crazy how you can get a palette and accessories for so cheap. I remember buying the prima sets just for the tin because empty metal tins cost more then their tins with the paint. It's been a race to the bottom in the watercolor world 😆 thanks for the review!

Hello Becca, I enjoy watching your watercolor reviews. I would like to tell you about professional watercolors called Kukuyo Camlin (they also sell a kids brand) that comes in tube sets that you can buy on Amazon and EBay that are from India. These watercolors are beloved in India. They are at a great price point and I really like them a lot. I do not know if you tried them yet, but maybe you would like to do a review on them some day. I can tell you everything that I know about them.

I'm also curious what Becca thinks about this brand. Many artists love it but some complain of an odor plus there's no available pigment information. Would love to see a thorough review and field test done

Yes, not having the pigment information is a drawback, but there is lightfast ratings. Also, once you pour the paint into pans to dry the smell does go away. These are really nice watercolors at a very affordable price. The yellow ochre and raw sienna are almost exactly the same color which I thought was odd.

I'm planning to buy a set. They've got some freebies and I'm a thrifty person so I think this is too good to be true lol
