So far the plan is a 1 month campaign, but if things are going overly well or we need a little more time to hit the goal you get the option to extend up to 60 days total. The factory we work with will do about 200 pairs per week in production. Thankfully there is an Amazon fulfillment center here in Leon to get the boots from us to you. If demand for the hard toe version is very high(hopefully) we’ll have to invest in our own injection molds to make the toe caps and it’ll take about 2 months from when we invest to when we receive a batch of toe caps. While that’s happening OR if demand and volume is low we can make the toe caps other ways. The injection molds make sense over time bc after the initial investment it is way less time and labor and $ consuming to make each pair of toe caps. The soft toe doesn’t need all that, we can already whip those out like it’s nothing. So realistically it’s probably at least 3-4 months from campaign start to when these arrive. Thus is crowdfunding a new business
Super smart with the design direction you're going in. Love that these really cater to blue collar workers. Maybe one day there will also be a slightly more feminine color way for us ladies who like to feel pretty even in the factory?
Thank you, I think we'd definitely offer all sorts of other colors down the road! There certainly isn't any lack of different colored leather in Mexico. For simplicity and wide appeal brown and black are a good starting point but for sure we will be looking to get all sorts of cRaZyyYy later if things go well
The soft toe isn’t unique in that there are other soft toe barefoot boots, but it’s worth making because ours are cool and right up there with the most well-made, and no matter what audience, everyone wears shoes but for situations that don’t require a tank it’s like a horse and a sword
@@dingusmaximus809 Yeah we’d do that for sure! And thank you for the comment. I’ve taken the current boots on a few hikes just in this area and they held up great for traction and comfort, but I’ll stop just short of calling them hiking boots rather than work boots you could hike in. It’s easy to appreciate the wideness right away compared to normal boots
Are these resoleable? I’m digging these but don’t know if that rubber will last what I am gonna put it through. So far vibram Christy soles seem to do good, wondering if these are close to that type of material? Keep up the good work though!
Thank you! There will be a Goodyear welt option, or they’ll all just be GY welt, that’s still up in the air. The sole is sturdier than it probably looks, the outside is a tough rubber similar to that of tires, durable and great traction, right above that is a 2-3mm layer of EVA for slight cushioning, then the midsole is 3mm of puncture proof Kevlar, and then a 2 or so mm foam insole for comfort. What are you gonna put them through?
@@Flatstepcreator just a lot of oil and coolant. The coolant really seems to soak into soles and cause them to soften and deform easily. Every pair of shoes, zero drop and flat, have came out looking like bananas and not having any traction in a month.
@@Flatstepcreator so far the soles on thorogood boots that look like the Christy soles are holding up decent. My buddy there with two years on his had them looking like bananas but they still have traction which is good. If they are a similar compound I think they would last a good bit.
