Comparison Between CZ Scorpion Models and the New Scorpion 3+ 

its nice to see everyone's disapproval on the new model. that means all of us without older models should be able to find one easily!

I think a lot of us who have the Scorpion 3 will not be changing to the new gun on the solo reason that the mags are not interchangable. Meaning old mags will not work with new magwell.

Perfect for me, never had one. Just bought one right now! Great egos and love the changes you guys made.. makes 100% sense for the changes that were needed. Doesn’t make sense for me to get the old version and spill even more money to make it better, this comes perfect right out of the box.

Nice to see the new cowitness sights, but changing mags? I just lost all interest.

I don't get designing a new mag & catch considering the original EVO top complaints were about the grip, right side selector and trigger weight. Sounds too much like a solution in search of a problem which lead to an unnecessary proprietary mag. Not every gun needs AR features, in fact I really like the EVO's original mag catch.

I own the carbine version and LOVE it... wasn't interested in the platform until these changes, but my gosh it looks SO MUCH BETTER, and the functional changes are actually major improvements, like the grip angle issue, bolt release, and frankly, the non-paddle style release for the mag is also a BIG win in my book. Sucks if you jumped in early, but for us late adapters of this platform, you guys knocked it out the park!! I'm about to buy the micro now, with the rebate it is too much to pass up for me.

I bought (and still own) the Evo 3 S1 and was immediately disappointed in the grip angle, the right side safety and the low riding sights. It's like CZ didn't put any attention at all into ergonomics. The felt recoil for a 9mm is chunky and rough. I changed out the grip, added risers to the sights, mounted an SB Tactical brace, and now it's shootable. I'll occasionally take it to the range, put a few magazines through it, then put it away in favor of other guns that are more enjoyable to shoot.

Why in Earth would you change the mags??????!!!!!!!! The current mags are industry standard?!?!?!?!?!??!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

That's all very nice. But when will there be a CZ da/sa or in the size of a 365 xl? In competitions I shoot the shadow 2 OR. I and many others would appreciate it if CZ would release a narrow P05 OR, or something like that. Thanks in advance.

Honestly this was a missed opportunity for a Aluminum or steel upper and making it roller delay. The other thing is they change the mag that alone will alienate 100% of owners of older iterations and for the price might a well get a PTR MP5, Zenith MP5 or even an MPX is going to be interesting how the market will react.

Does the new scorpion have a safety sear that prevents out of battery detonations? That's the main thing I'm curious about

I liked the Ak style mag release. The only thing really wrong with the other one was the grip, safety selector and the muzzle brake should of had the tread protector built in. I was really excited about this one till I heard the specs and was like ummm nope.

Changing the magazines was a huge mistake.

I would of simply tossed the xm8 copy grip and added a ergonomic grip. Changed the handguard with Mlok and full length rail on top no angle down like the evo 3. Better sling attachments. Modified the rear of bolt so the hammer will only make contact when fully in battery sorta like the bolt carrier tail on AK. And last reinforce the area of the receiver and breech so it wont crack

I'm looking into a Scorpion or Striborg. Any recommendations? Pros and cons? Do they make 30 round capacity mags for either of them? Thanks.

I wished CZ would have stuck with the mag release. I love the one on my S2. Absolutely the best of any firearm I own. It doesn’t get any faster either.

Is there a hogue rubber grip that will fit? Of what is the Closest pistol grip that can be compared with the evo s2?

What’s the purpose of the hole below the grip in the 3+ micro? If it’s used for storage, why didn’t Cz throw in a plug? Just wondering because I have the 3+ micro model. It’s a great add to the scorpion platform. ❤😍🥰

I'm a CZ Fan boy, but they have been letting me down with their new releases. First the a micro compact (P-10m) in 2021 that only holds 7+1, now this.

Everyone needs to be aware that if you’re a long time scorpion user your older mags will NOT work, not even PMAGS without modification.

Does the new handguard off the 3+ work on the old S3? The picatiny rails feel uncomfortable on mine and I was looking at replacing it but the aftermarket aluminum ones heat up and the Pakse looks cheap.

Are parts like charging handle interchangeable between the 3+ and the Evo 3

CZ should have just retained their Iconic mag catch and bolt release ...

so the only real upgrade i see here is the grip which you could replace for 20$ anyway. based off the new mag release and bolt catch alone i would not buy this not to mention you changed the freakin magazines. such a shame, one of my favorite platforms and you guys could have done some great things with it but this just isnt it. I will give you it is much more aesthetically pleasing but thats about it and that hurts to say because I love my CZ's.

How much is this for in USA? In Pakistan we are getting the version with modes:- safe, semi, burst and auto fire for about 2500-3000$.

They changed the mags to make money. No one had an issue with the paddle type mag release. Especially when upgraded to an extended release from the aftermarket. I guess it's upper managements job to make money but making it off of the gen 2 mags is kinda sketchy.

the redeeming feature of the scorpion used to be the widely available mags. why throw the baby out with the bathwater. and the price hike for another straight blowback design. yikes.

Changing the mag release is the worst thing possible. So many of us that came from AR’s DID NOT have any issue with the trigger guard area release. So to change that to the bolt release is horrible. Plus like many others have said: the original mag has become a standard for many other makers to use. So changing the mag release forced a new mag body to be made as the catch is now in a different location. Please refrain from changing things that the majority of users DO NOT WANT

i would have bought one at first chance if the mags were the same. If i wanna pay that price and need new mags I'll get a B&T ghm , atleadt those mags fit all their stuff. big loss on the mag change, and anyone that would dremel a mag on a gun you would bet your life on is not that smart. on up side you can always get a job at CZ for new product design!! apparently not that smart is a requirement.

Fantastic they should have made the magazine to fit all three handguns that is a design flaws that should have kept the same magazine so it will fit the old style and then you style

why use polymer for the handguard!! The top pic rail was polymer too, at least pin a aluminum pic rail in place... No way that zero holds after it gets banged around in the gun safe or back seat... Come on CZ, dont cheap out and charge more to do it....

Those strips of "texture' on the handguard are a deal breaker for me. Sorry, but that completely ruins the gun and it looks horrible. Was this a Colt idea? If I got one I would either have to have a way to remove them or mod them so I can't see how horrible and worthless they are. Completely kills the weird crazy industrial look
