@@stevenshockley4237 Yeah but there is still a size difference when you held the 2 clarinets next to each other. The Eb Clarinet reed is shorter & narrower than a Bb reed. Eb reeds break more easily than Bb reeds which explains why some musicians like to use Bb reeds on the Eb clarinet.

If I ever get an e-flat again, I'm making sure to spend a bit more money :D not only am I just bad at e-flat, but the cheap instrument I used was soooo bad.

If you can find an Eb that's better than the chinese crap I had, you'll like it haha. If you can, try both and see what you like better

In high school its harder and less common to pay eb clarinets

Stick with a Bb clarinet I’m in grade 7 senior band (at my school) and it’s way easier to me since I switched from clarinet to bass clarinet then back to Bb clarinet and it was easier but when I switched back I kept blowing to hard so I taught myself to play lighter

Just get one that isn't a cheapo and you should be okay haha don't be me.

Well, from my unprofessional knowledge, I seem to recall that softer reeds make it harder to play high notes. Try getting comfortable with a 2 and a half :) try to have someone that's experienced with high notes help you too, in person help tends to work best.

Go up to a 3

Depending on how long you've been playing, I would recommend going up a reed size. I'm on my fifth year playing on a size four, and can reach C5, which scares my cat, ahaha

Try a 2.5 and then slowly work your way up.

I started at a 3 and I’m at a 4 rn so I would say 3-4

Replace mouthpiece I did it with my b flat and it got better

Good idea haha it's tiny and hard to play.

It wasn't meant to be professional by any means. But the embouchure was not the issue on the Eb, it's just simply cheap and doesn't work well.

@@lukesuarez8038 Clarinet is not my primary instrument, in this video I hadn't touched clarinet in almost a year, and I haven't played since, so I'm not gonna play like I pick up the instrument often, this video was for info, not showing off.
