@@stevenshockley4237 Yeah but there is still a size difference when you held the 2 clarinets next to each other. The Eb Clarinet reed is shorter & narrower than a Bb reed. Eb reeds break more easily than Bb reeds which explains why some musicians like to use Bb reeds on the Eb clarinet.

If I ever get an e-flat again, I'm making sure to spend a bit more money :D not only am I just bad at e-flat, but the cheap instrument I used was soooo bad.
I’m doing middle school band and am thinking of doing eb clarinet when I get to high school but idk if it would be better or harder. I think I need an opinion.
Stick with a Bb clarinet I’m in grade 7 senior band (at my school) and it’s way easier to me since I switched from clarinet to bass clarinet then back to Bb clarinet and it was easier but when I switched back I kept blowing to hard so I taught myself to play lighter
I play clarinet and my little brother is wanting to learn but my Bb is too big for him do you think I should try letting him play an Eb clarinet? Would it hurt anything for him to learn Eb before Bb?
What’s the best reed to play the upper register?, I’m not having much luck with it. It’s all puff and wind. My reed is a 2.i can play the lower register no problem.
Well, from my unprofessional knowledge, I seem to recall that softer reeds make it harder to play high notes. Try getting comfortable with a 2 and a half :) try to have someone that's experienced with high notes help you too, in person help tends to work best.
Depending on how long you've been playing, I would recommend going up a reed size. I'm on my fifth year playing on a size four, and can reach C5, which scares my cat, ahaha
Dominant Cases Casos Dominantes It probably cost around $100, probably a little more. Got it on eBay, just one of the obviously cheap ones. I'd hoped it would work since my Bb is pretty great. I was wrong :D
@@lukesuarez8038 Clarinet is not my primary instrument, in this video I hadn't touched clarinet in almost a year, and I haven't played since, so I'm not gonna play like I pick up the instrument often, this video was for info, not showing off.
