People laughing about Diavolo skipping his monologue seem to forget a certain bisexual narcissist vampire who held entirely one-sided conversations *multiple* times in Stopped Time.
The best use of time stop was when DIO stopped time, then proceeded to bob and weave between a bunch of cobwebs in 2-3 seconds just to stand behind Hol Horse menacingly.
Yeah. One flaw tho is the unnecessary time erasing. Diavolo cut his own monologue off and that's just meme worthy. Besides that it was homoerotically awesome.
@@thecoton6152 The time erasure makes sense in the context of Polnareff being confused about Doppio, making it harder for him to figure out that the boss is a dual personality
@@thecoton6152 Diavolo: this is a test *cut here* wouldn't you agree? Jean Pierre Polnareff? Polnareff: agree on what? that this is a test? a test of what? Diavolo: no like, defeating your weaker self etc. Polnareff: when did y- wait... did you just skipped your own monologue? Diavolo: uuuuuhh... no? Polnareff: OMFG Diavolo: ;_;
Only in the anime does Diavolo use KC to monologue, but I almost feel like it's better that way. It really helps sell Polnareff being confused about how Diavolo got there, even if Diavolo's question "makes no sense". Cuz sure, a kid turning into a grown mafia boss behind a pillar is pretty confusing, but just seeing a kid walk up the stairs, say "This is a test", disappear, and Diavolo's now right next to you...that's a pretty terrifying Old Spice ad.
Dio is actually more nicer than Polnareff and has sense of humor bc Dio couldve killed Polanreff on the stairs scene but intsead Dio trolled him by going down picking him up and putting him back down and going back up 🤣 while Diavolo just freaking goes straight away to kill Polnareff.
DP went above and beyond for the adaptation. Another interesting addition is that if you go back and watch the Cioccolata fight, you can actually hear the sounds of Gold Experiences life giving ability when he first starts the 7 page Muda, implying Cioccolata experienced that entire beatdown in a hyper-sensory state.
Agent Parker, Federal Bureau of Incredibly Long Names Let me rephrase: Araki predicted the high ground 7 years before Revenge of the Sith. Polnareff just read up on Sun Tzu’s The Art of War before taking on the guy who can “travel through time”
I can confirm that I dramatically walked up the stairs and skipped the flow of time itself as I took off my shirt, grew longer hair and got my voice super deep and sexy.
Optic still kinda chilling to hear. Imagine being polnareff and you hear that and you just assume you’re the test that diavolo is just going to cut through
I hate this sentiment that you HAVE to think that the manga does everything the best because that’s the original. Personally I absolutely love the manga, it’s my favorite manga of all time. But David Production just goes above and beyond when it comes to adapting JoJo. David Production are true JoJo fans that really understands the series. They expand and improve on so many things. Like in the recent adaptation of part 5, they expanded the torture dance which was only a few panel to like a full length segment with awesome unique aesthetic that still fits the spirit of JoJo. They also made King Crimson easier to digest and made his power much more consistent with small edits. Which is a vast improvement since that’s one of the big flaws of part 5. David Production even keep contact with Araki and run stuff by him for his opinion. So while I do think Diavolo’s appearance in the manga is fantastic, I still have to say that the anime did it best. The fact that they lengthened the scene and made it very quiet and chilling to set a perfect atmosphere. And the added time skip was just so damn perfect. Edit: For the people saying that the added time skip made no sense because Diavolo cut himself off I would have to disagree. Personally I think it was pretty obvious that he wasn’t literally seeking a answer from Polnareff and as it is even shown, Polnareff doesn’t react to his question. Which just further emphasizes that.
Yeah yeah but they changed the color into the ugly "everything is green" color plate and it's annoying. I prefer the black dots on his hair and his golden armbands but I like the green eyes
But it makes sense for him to skip time, because Polnareff would've figured out who Doppio is. And since in the manga and the anime he doesn't know who is Doppio until Orange boy was game ended, maybe it was intended, but *Araki forgot*
@@thomasmartinez7270 all of them, even the anime. I get that legendary pokemon vibe especially when Doppio became Diavolo the theme made me feel like Polnareff was encountering a legendary pokemon.
My favorite part of the anime adaptation is that if you time it from when time skip visual effects star and end, it's right about 10 seconds. This whole scene is in real time.
JohnathanPizza He didn’t figure that out in the manga where he doesn’t time skip because he thought Doppio was a disguise instead of a completely different person
Even though they are the same person, it makes sense for the two to have different voice actors because Diavolo's voice is a complete alteration to Doppio's
Fucking manga elitists are everywhere always chanting that manga is better even disliking better drawings cuz 'its not enough like the manga' i actually see stuff like that all the time and its so damn annoying. Eg the demon slayer anime adaptation blew the manga out of the water it was that good. I dont dislike manga, but i hate the elitists
I love his reveal in the anime, though I think his face in the original manga looks a bit more intimidating. He looks almost too pretty and not menacing enough to me. I still like the anime version the best, though.
I’ll be straight forward. All versions are 10/10 but the anime did such an amazing job that even with volume all the way down that it just gives a creepy vibe. The anime did Diavolo’s reveal so much justice aswell as his voice actors for both dub and sub
I've just looped this five times. I want to say I don't have a favorite, but anime adaptation wins it for me. It's so much more suspenseful than the manga. It's rather amazing how David Productions can take manga panels and extend on them. Plus, Doppio's delivery and transition into Diavolo is flawless.. The speech is synchronized perfectly.
2:44 this is the equivalent of seeing a friend listening to music, do the lip motion of talking but without actually talking anf finished it up with a loud "wouldn't you agree" or "right?"
