Comparison of trams in Riga Latvia 

The trolleybus is an Irisbus/Iveco Citelis, with a Škoda VF drive. Its Diesel, hybrid and CNG versions are very widespread in France and Czech Republic because that's where Iveco factories are located. It's an evolution of the Renault Agora bus, which is itself an evolution of the Renault R312. They have a very bad reputation of cheap plastic buses and are often nicknamed "barbecues", because a well known problem of the Diesel variant of these buses, is that they catch on fire very easily because of a bad designed cooling system and not having enough vents.

I rode on the Riga tram once, in late July 1990 or early August 1990 before flying with Aeroflot to Moscow Sheremetyevo. Back then, the trams were pretty much the same Tatra T3 stock. A tram ride at the time, was only 5 Kopeck. Prior to Riga, I was in Tallinn, and the trams used the more conventional diamond shaped pantograph. BTW I stayed at the Olümpia in Tallinn and they had 3 m/s lifts that were very advanced. I think they were from Sweden. The hotel I stayed at in Riga in July/August 1990, had a very old style lift, you push the button to call, and it is stuck in until it reaches your floor. When you choose a floor to go to, the button stays stuck until it reaches the chosen floor. My hotel 14th to 16th October 2009 in Minsk, Belarus, had the same kind of lift.

I'm from Riga. Love our old trams honestly. But seats are not comfortable, my spine hurts :D

The Tatra T6B5 with the newer pulsing drive sounds exactly the same as the Tatra T5C5K trams in Budapest

I was in Riga once, Did a cruiseferry trip. was on land only a couple of hours and mananged to film some few ecodiscs at Galleria Riga. Didn't even manange to use the trams!

T3M has a nice pulse drive sound

Those modern trams have a interiour similair to Alstrom Lint 41 trains. My least favorite type of train because of their uncomfortable seats that really hurt after sitting on them for more then 30 minutes.

WTF since Skoda trolleybus from 10:41 looks the same as IVECO Irisbus from Romania but different led panels showing the line number

oh i'm glad they didn't buy this skoda trash for sofia and went for pesa instead which isn't that good but much better than this skoda and also tatra t3 originally had an accellerator
