To be fair to the Whedon cut, the Snyder cut has 2 extra hours to work with. That said, I believe Snyder could cut down some scenes to reduce the 4 hour run time and still be much better than Whedon.
@@gLeeksFF The context is because Snyder removed some unnecassary scenes from the Whedon version. It's not as simple as Snyder adding 2 hours into the movie like you said. Snyder knew which are important scenes and not. Also, straightforward and clear are two different things.
Since theres a lot of confusion in the comments: Snyders daughter died during the production of the JL and he left bc of that and because WB executives wanted to take creative control after the bad reception of Batman V Superman. Joss Whedon did a shitton of reshoots and didnt follow Snyders original story because WB execs wanted it to be more fun and family friendly. The movie was shit and people eventually found out that there was hours of another film that existed that never made it, eventually after enough pressure from fans, actors, and etc. WB caved and greenlit Snyders version. So its kind of a remake, as in the entire movie has been re-edited with Snyders original footage and vision for the project, as well as some newly shot scenes, a new score, cgi revamp, and now has a 4 hour run time all of Snyders stuff.
everything about the snyder's one is superior, even if it isnt comic accurate. the looks, the voice, the motives, the actions, hell he even has puppy eyes that help you sympathize with him. he just wants to go home, while the whedon one had him rambling about some non existent mother.

I've just finished watching it... It's an completed version.. Way better than the previous one that's for sure.. But idk... I feel like it needed more time with a different story from the beginning IMO BTW

The Zack Snyder cut is like a superhero origin ironically. Zack lost his daughter, gave up and lost passion for the project, his abandoned project is turned into an abhorrent abomination by another person, Zack after years of being in hiding comes back, musters up the courage to finish his abandoned project and deliver hope and happiness to fans.
A real tragedy what happened to his daughter. Nobody would've blamed him for never coming back but this shows how much he respects his fans. Enough to come back and do this right. The Snyder cut is also going to be 4 HOURS LONG 🤯🤯
Why is everybody blaming on Whedon ? We should blame WB instead. WB is the one that tell Zack Snyder to cut the movie from 4 hours to 2 hours. Zack was fighting with WB for the 4 hours release but he have family problem back then so he step down. The WB boss then hire Whedon to reshot and cut everything to get it around 2 hours. There no way Whedon can produce a good justice league movie with 2 hours and even zack Snyder know that. We should point finger at WB instead on Whedon.
Exactly! The movie was good but if WB felt like it was too long then maybe it should have been released in 2 parts. First part till the point where Superman comes back to life and the 3rd mother box goes to Steppenwolf and the rest in second part. Whedon was given a half project and asked to cut it down so he did his thing- he added a family that audiences can relate to, he added some jokes and quips and made us laugh. Honestly, I am still thankful to Whedon for making the original JL movie somewhat enjoyable.
Actually Whedon should also be blamed, first he ruined by adding cheesy jokes, Flash’s face on Wonder Woman’s boobs, and also harassing the cast including Ray Fisher.
I was honestly so pleasantly surprised by the Snyder cut, it was so much better than the first version and really gave actually weight to the improved plot. Yes it's long and I know that's an issue with being 4 hours long but it fleshes out the characters cyborg empirically has a much improved story. It's dark which Dc movies should be instead of pandering to a younger audience like what marvel does alot of the time, there's blood like a lot of blood which was something I was shocked but happy to see. Over all I'd recommend this to some who likes Dc and has the time, this isn't for the casual viewer it's for someone actually interested in the plot and characters

I think a lot of people in the comments section need to go look at how movie's are made and what a director's cut actually means. Whedon changed the film's overall tone and aesthetic when he took over after Snyder left to deal with his daughter's suicide. The fact he came back to finish what the fans wanted is very courageous on his part.
Realizing that the original movie is also 4 hrs. They cut like half the movie. No wonder the first was shit. Im actually excited to see if its any better. And anyone who thinks the vision didnt entirely change when whedon took over is insane or doesnt understand film making

Dc is dark world and zack knows how to deal with it, dc doesn't need humor very much. It is much better the way it is. Because it is badass and it has to be.

DC is not dark, brooding, and gritty constantly. It has those stories, just like literally every other comic book company. But the reason why those stories matter is because they're interruptions in otherwise happy lives.
they fixed it simply by adding backstory of Flash and Cyborg, something that we didn't understand why they left it out in the original. they learnt, only took them 3 years, hopefully with this Henry Cavill remains in DCEU, because let's face it, we don't need another Superman remake.

The Snyder cut was way better, but I don't blame Joss Whedon for changing it to something inferior. He was hired to take over, work with what he has for a short period, and pressured by WB to make the movie less than 2 hours only. It was already a disaster from the time Warner executives wanted it their way when Snyder left. On the other hand, thanks WB for giving the Snyder cut the green light even if it took 5 years...
I found the opposite. I had the Whedon version being a lot better. I won't put spoilers in but the villains came out looking very weak in Snyder's version. The good thing about Snyder's version was the new scenes for Cyborg. The rest was pretty average.

People still don't understand that Whedon took 1.30h from 2h movie from Snyder's recordings, rewrote 90 pages of the original script and what was left over was still edited, that is, Snyder will release a completely new film since there will be 4h of scenes recorded by him without third-party editing and Warner intervention. It is impossible to compare anything just with the trailer.

I like vibrant colours a lot and when I was scared about snyder’s cut like it might be washed off but when I saw the movie it felt so natural like I didn’t realise the colours weren’t so vibrant and it matches the vibe of the movie so muchhh
The fact that Steppenwolf looks like he is an actual threat and not some random dude with a pointy helmet in the snyder cut says so much , not even gonna say how the rest of the trailer was just more exciting compared to the whedon one
Whedon cut is like its for kids. The friendly superman, the friendly fights no death, more children in the scenes just like Superman carrying a building. Snyder cut is what DC should be
I too thought all they did was increase brightness add more contrast, change badass design to low level ones and trim all interesting scenes. Volla trash completed.
This movie accomplished 3 things: it made the plot feel like it had real consequences and made you care about the characters. The entire tone is darkened and SO much better. The script actually respects the audience
Well DC movies have had a dark tone to them for a while, but it has always been a half-assed attempt at the dark and gritty, however, Snyder committed to the dark tone and it worked magnificently
Gave cyborg a legit back story and actual importance to the plot. Fleshed out flash Spoiler: Holy shit flash’s breaking the speed of light scene was so bad ass. Everything was worth it for that scene alone
It was comic book like and I mean that in the best way. I never really got the dark, eerie vibe from the comics and the animated series (Batman and JL) in any of the DC movies barring The Dark Knight.
I agree. But tbh Whedon had to cut down so much of his version to adhere to WB requirements. Maybe giving Whedon more creative control and a 4 hour runtime might have made it better. But then again all those ridiculous scenes that was in Whedon’s cut, I’m glad Snyder fixed it.
Seems like Whedon tried making it into a brighter movie, almost more like the Avengers. Forgetting that DC is so much darker than Marvel, there's just no way you can have Batman in a movie like this without him being a dark character like he has always been
I’m tired of constantly hearing this. Yes DC is dark, but it isn’t always dark. It’s very hopeful and light filled with the occasional dark. This is why the New 52 didn’t succeed and why DC created Rebirth. Batman isn’t always dark either, and the fact that Snyder doesn’t adapt DC characters properly makes them too dark. While it works for this film, it didn’t for MoS and BvS. It’s an often incorrect assumption to make Batman, Clark, and Diana so damn gritty; they aren’t that dark. They are literal beacons of hope and it is show constantly in the comics and animation, which are 100x better than the DCEU. This is why two things in Joss’s final cut are better at than Snyder’s version; despite that damn film being a fucking mess because of WB. Color grading, Snyder makes the shots look devoid of life and dreadful. Joss fixed that and I prefer the Crisis Red Sky in comparison to the actual night of the final fight. He made things a bit more colorful, which is what Snyder’s version needed. It’s okay to be dark, but not through the whole fucking film because it’s too much and turns people off. The second thing is Superman as a character. He isn’t this overlord god that you bow down to, he’s an actual person who was raised here. While Clark had some cringey ass lines in the 2017 version, he was actually Clark. That’s the essence of Superman that people in the DCEU are missing out on. He’s a lovable Boy Scout who is super optimistic and inspires hope in people. That wasn’t seen in BvS or MoS.
@@KingofKnowhere Okay fair enough, my main point for saying the DC needs to be dark like it was is because when I watched the original JL, Batman's comedic relief in an intense battlemade it seem like a worse version of the Avengers. To differ they could have done comedic relief after the fight or something. But yeah you're right, I was probably a bit too intense on DC being dark in general And yeah I do definitely agree with the dark filter and stuff, it was so hard to see some of the scenes as I watched it, like I had no problem with the red filter really. But I didn't really have a problem with Superman. At this point he was the only one to have a stand alone movie, so if makes sense they'd make him the strongest, it also gave them another purpose of becoming a team

@@aiditaiman They are not remaking the whole movie per se, they cut alot of zack snyder's shoots that is up to 4 or 5 hours I think and even though the storyline will stay the same the script will probably get changed alot because whedon's script was very cringey and tried too hard to compete with the mcu rather than doing the movie how zack snyder wanted it.
It's true, There are a few moments in the film (perhaps to save budget) where he couldn't reframe shots, usually shots with a lot of FX, which are... either cropped, compressed completely or half, this one doesn't seem to have any FX, I don't know why then. I advise you to compare the scene where Flash runs the resurrection where there is a lot of cropping, and the slow-motion Flash Vs. Superman fight where the top and bottom are clearly stretched, if not compressed. But I would say that all his compiled shots do not exceed 2min, 3max, over 4 hours of the film, that's nothing.
the reason why this is 4 hours long is because of the slow motion scenes. seriously, this is a great movie and I hope they can build the dceu from here and they should just use those slow motion when flash is using his powers so that it won't feel overused and will still make an impact.

Synder's cut gave us a different/new superhero movie experience. Whats the point if all superhero movies are to be made exactly like the marvel avenger movies? Synder's cut is dark, raw and speaks to a different vision for superhero movies. Major UpVOTE to Snyder's cut.
The slow plot, instead of becoming a weakness, became a strong point in the story, the action sequences were epic, the character development kinda felt like a serious anime. It was not your average "action movie" with a cute chick, lots of puns and action sequences, it was rather dark and unique, and that's how I like it

What's your point? Most of the scenes that were in Whedon's cut were already made by Zack Snyder. The best scenes of Whedon's cut were all shortened and recolored versions of already pre-existing Synder scenes.

It sucks cuz like it’s pretty well known that the DCEU has a darker tone than we’re used to from superhero movies but that’s what fans like about it. The problem with this movie is that Whedon either didn’t realize that or didn’t want that so he tried to make it humourous and less heavy which backfired and made it tacky. Snyder, on the other hand, leaned into the darkness especially with regards to the characters’ backgrounds
