I wasn't sure what I was expecting on this video, but wow! I knew BuDaKhel and Kat have set the bar high with one sweet day, but they continue to collaborate and make gold. I would love to see an original from them. Thanks for watching!
Mariah is such a brilliant writer and producer!! It' just amplifies her singing abilities in a song, truly an inspiration to many! React to her song Vision Of Love! Her first single ever!
You're right about the Filipino singers' ability to bring new life to past era songs. This group is great at that. Their version of this song showcases their upbeat artistic brand of musicality.
First time hearing it. I liked it but I can't help but wonder how it might sound without auto tune and all of the tools of the music industry that didn't exist in the 1999 version.
@@gughny You do know autotune works in real time right? But i did find the live version, it was nice. I am not speaking bad of them, but due to no fault of their own its impossible to know how talented they are because of the way the music industry has changed.
@@miked3723 do you know lot of singers and composers who're using auto tune? it just to make a good song , normalize hearing auto tune nowadays bro and anyway with or without AT those singers are great!
This was done mid-way thru the the pandemic , and Daryl asked some reactors to share a short clip of what they loved and enjoyed.....sadly the photo of Kat with her son Kenrick and b/f at the time, and married, in March of 21...but sadly, died in Nov. last year, assumed to be from mental health issues....Mike Shapiro, musician/producer, and he played the drums on this video.
Great reaction! Both versions are great. But the best thing about Katrina and Budakhel version is that no one outshines the other, with the original, only one of the guys get to sing most of the part but both sounded great with the harmonies though. 🙂
This was a song they released at the height of the pandemic making it truly relevant. Bugoy is very versatile but I particularly just love his reggae renditions . Look up “One Day”. Bugoys reggae take on a classic! Thank you for reacting to Filipino artists. But be warned. It’s a rabbit hole difficult to get out of.
I think the philippines has done it better eventhough the americans were the original of this song....the edge i think are creativity and most of all the emotion.the song is full of emotion when they sang it..
The Budakel feat katrina version is much more better than Mariah Carey, joe and Nick Lashey version. Mariah and joe left the group of Nick intead of harmonizing with them ,and thats the sad thing about it.
Basically the outlook of every new year celebration. But we tend to look back and say the past has been all bad. Then we look back now and say “the good old days.” At the end of the day, I cherish moments past, present and to come.
This song was performed live but this one is for the music video. I also cant find the original footage but I think they made this shot as a music video with the original studio recording. I personally prefer the original Mariah one. Budakhel and Katrina did great too, love the instrumentation the most. This song was very popular in 2000 (hit no.1 on the charts and nominated for a Grammy award) it is also one of the many song by Mariah that is very popular here in the Philippines
@@sksksksksk7570 not in a opinion perspective were dealing with the facts here ,in all aspect of this version try to listen with both version and you will understand it correctly.
MANY FILIPINOS WORK HARD TO EARN MONEY. UNTIL THEY DISCOVER IN THEMSELVES THAT THEY HAVE A TALENT TO ENJOY THEIR LIVES. THEY LIVE IN A POOR COUNTRY. EVEN IF SOMETHING IS DIFFICULT TO DO, THEY TRY TO DO IT.
Original is original. No song cover will be made if there is no original. However, Budhakel and Katrina's cover brought a different touch and warmth in the song. Different folks, different strokes...
I never paid attention to how stunning Mariah looked in this video. It was a time when her outfits were really criticized and Glitter didn't help. AND when I see what some female rappers are wearing today...
Yes, the style was different 23 years ago. Why did you have to spend the first half of the video amazed that 1999 didn't have the same fashion as 2022?
I'm not amazed by it. I lived it. I am making a video to engage with people who want to watch. It's fun to see where we have come in the last 20 years. Similar to when people look back to the 70's and 80's when we were in the early 2000's.
Love Mariah Version more! The point of this song that was so loved by fans is because the simplicity of the vocal choices such the runs and riffs and the production, the second group have over sung it, to the point where it feels like loses the very essence of the song which is the message! I prefer Mariah version in humble opinion. The second group was good tho they can sing! Ps: your reaction seems kinda annoyed and not trying to enjoy Mariah’s version.
