Thanks sir, your videos are really motivating subcontinent doctors to work in Australia with better working conditions. Very useful information. Regards
Thank you for the great guide I'm not a doctor but I do research for my very busy wife. I need some clarifications: 1. At 1:04, you said: "and they will eventually be granted a general or full registration", what is the difference between the two types of registrations? What parameters determine whether they can get general or full registration? 2. Does the candidate fulfil both components, exam and course or whether a graduate from any uni will be eligible for a provisional licence if they passed the USMLE?
Hi Doc! Thanks for sharing this great video! Loved your presentation and attention to detail. ❤ Just wanted to clarify one point, if I’m applying for AUS using CAP, does passing MRCEM help us in landing jobs/residencies easier or is it not considered at all in Australia?
this was very informative. I did not know about the short term training programs offered in Australia but it reminds me of the MTI offered in the UK. Is it remunerated as well or sponsored?
One can get GMC registration via multiple routes. Australian registration via competent authority pathway as mentioned on AHPRA website is (PLAB1&2+ 12 month UK work experience). Clarify with AMC/ AHPRA your specific issue.
Thank you for such detailed video. please answer this question that if one passes PLAB and has experience of working in Ireland for 12 months. then can this person apply for a job in Australia trough competent pathway and later get general registration?
hi there As an Australian who moved to be an international medical student in the UK - do I need to do those 12 months of supervised work in the UK before coming back to Aus after graduating? Or is there any way I can come back straight after graduating?
@@EmergencyFocus Thanks for the reply! What I mean to ask is if provisional reg is NOT GRANTED can we apply again? You said 36 IMGs applied last year how many succeeded? And if one is rejected, can one apply again?
Thank you Dr. Rizwan. I am 62 years old. Primary mbbs is from India. My MS in surgery is from India too. Then i have been working as medical university faculty in Dubai, Malaysia for over 25 years in general surgery along with clinical work, currently in Malaysia. I have thn passed FRCS Glasgow in 1999. In between, i have worked in Singapore for 2 years. I have GMC registration but no UK training or experience. What are the options for me? I would prefer to do GP work ( i have some gp experience too. ) Im also looking at a possible, predominantly academic job in medical school. Thank you
Thank you Dr Rizwan. For example I have completed all 3 usmles, I am currently completing 12 months supervised work in Australia (internship under standard pathway) will I then be eligible for the competent pathway or need to complete the standard pathway?
Thank you for the very informative video, it was very helpful. I have a question. I did my internship in India 4 years ago and then worked in India for 3 years. After that, I completed the PLAB and started working in the UK, where I've completed 12 months. I’ve received a job offer in Australia and am currently applying for AHPRA provisional registration. For question number 13 on the APRI-30 form (internship or comparable), which internship should I provide as proof? Should it be my internship in India or my 12 months of experience in the UK? If it's the UK experience, what kind of letter should it be, and from whom?
Your comparable internship is the one you did in the UK and that must be put out. Specifics are variable and can be discussed over a 1:1 session on Zoom. www.emergencyfocus.net/booking-calendar/1-1-career-guidance-session
Thank you for constantly sharing the updated information with all of us. I have completed my dnb anaesthesia from delhi, india and is now working as a senior resident in a givt hospital. Kindly give guidance regarding the most suitable way I can pursue my career in australia at this stage.
Hi Dr. I am a graduate from one of the offshore medical university you mentioned. Do you recommend doing plab and work for 12 month then CAP in my case or go with AMC exams. Thank you so much
Hi Doc! Thankx for such an amazing video. I want to ask that if a doctor is Registered by IMC (Medical Council Ireland via PRES exemption pathway) can they get provisional registration by CAP ?
@@EmergencyFocusKindly check the guidelines plz . After 3 years of experience in Ireland via pres exemption route ,one can get automatic recognition in Australia
Hello. Thanks for this amazing guidance. I m FCPS AND FRCR DIAGNOSTIC RADIOLOGY 2019. how to find jobs for the specialist area of need pathways. That seems to be relatively better and easy option. Ur answer awaited. Regards
Love your energy and your smile, gives a very pleasant vibe. ⭐I have a doubt doc, the 12 months UK experience, does it have to be a FY1 or FY2 meaning at an internship level, or can it be any job at an hospital?
Great content doc, keep doing more. I have 2 questions if you can give some insight and guidance! I am an IMG after my MBBS here I am continuing my PG, a first year clinical anesthesia resident of 3 years specialty training in China. 1. What exams or pathway do you suggest I can take to work in Oz? 2, I dont have any medical license atm, in order to apply for short term training or fellowship after here, do I have to have a medical license from home country or country of practice before applying for short term or fellowship jobs ? Any suggestions are welcome 😊, thank you
Assallam o Alalium Dr. Razwan I did MBBS from Pakistan. Did USMLE 1, step 2 CK . Step 2 CS and step 3 , did 3 years non accredited fellowship in USA (without residency) . Have current US licence. currently working as GP in Qatar . What is the best pathway for me to work in Australia Regards
Dear Dr .Thanks for the video.Your videos are very much informative.I am Dr Reddy from India.I did my MD in Internal Medicine.I have 12 years experience post MD.I am trying Specialist registration under AREA of need. They mentioned in that we need a letter for that from Hospital authorities regarding AREA of need. How to get that letter or any other option do we have for this registration.
If I complete my MBBS in a well-recognized medical school in Egypt, then go for PLAB and 12 months of supervised practice in the UK, will I be able to take the competent authority pathway? Cheers from Egypt!
@@EmergencyFocushi sir Thank u for valuable information Myself Dr Rahul from India currently pursuing my 1st yr residency in India .. What are the specialist pathways for me to work in Australia after my residency ? Do I need to clear AMC and what are job opportunities to get without doing residency again ? Thank you sir
Thanks for the informative video. But having the Sri Lankan flag on the thumbnail was misleading because a Sri Lankan doctor cannot work in Australia unless they do PLAB or AMC and gain experience in UK or any other CAP country ….
There is an MD program from Sri Lanka in anaesthesia and EM and other specialities too from UOC. Worth exploring that as specialist pathway in AoN or partial recognition for specialist recognition. Had one Sri lankan ED doctor on short term training for 2 years.
@@EmergencyFocus thanks for taking the time to clarify. appreciate it alot. Just another question - is medical internship and junior doctor the same in Australian medical system ?
Great video Rizwansir Just want to ask that if selection happens through MTI & if anyone work in UK for couple of years so after that can he apply for specialist or competent pathways in Australia??
Hi dr Rizwan! Thanks for your informative videos. Kindly make video for partial compatibility pathway for Mrcgp southasia, recognized recently for specialist pathway for Australia, what are the steps to follow, how difficult is FRAGP exam, are training jobs paid or unpaid, and the total cost of pathway is more than 18000 dollars ,is it worth it ? Thanks
Thanks ! See GP pathway video ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-vWFSkxtyxbo.html Steps for MRCGP international … you can apply for GP jobs directly when offered job and then apply for amc primary source, Apply to GP college for PEP (practice experience pathway)
Sir... Many thanks for your valuble details.. For An IMG who passed pres 3 exam in ireland and obtained general registration in ireland medical council, how much years of experience need for to be eligable for competent authority pathway...?
Being an indian MRCOG doctor and a PR here, can i go in for a short term training programme to get the surgical experience in OBGYN and then write AMC, later applying for long-term training/ fellowship program?
You have excellent chance of getting into your field after AMC 1/ STTP doesn’t get you a specialist qualification and job can be difficult to find but amc 1 opens a much better and wider door to a job market
Thank you doctor. I just have a question. After PLAB if i do 12 months of practise in NES but not in NHS, in Uk, will this practise count eligible for CAP and then gain registration in australia?
Thank you for this valuable information Doc. Please I would like to know where an overseas Doctor can find and apply for training jobs(websites) for Short Term Training. Thank you
Thank u for your informative videos. I am from Bangladesh. I am working as a paediatrician in a tertiary care hospital for 15 years. I did my FCPS in paediatrics. How can I search for a job in Australia? Do I have to qualify AMC exam?
Please watch Australia Medical career video for step by step instructions … part of the process of moving out is to be self sufficient finding resources, I can alway finesse a specific query but you’re asking a very general broad advice extensively covered by multitude of videos on my channel. Hope this clarifies
And also sir is there any great issue if there is any huge impact after housejob and not being able to find a job in your own country, on applying for practice in Australia, even if you clear AMC or apply through competent pathway?
Hi! Thankyou for the very informative video. I am an IMG, currently working in Australian hospital after AMC 1 on limited registration with 18 months work experience in Australia. If I give PLAB 1 and 2, will I be able to apply through CAP towards general registration in Australia ? Whole motive is to skip AMC2 Many thanks!
Good day Dr, i know you're incredibly busy but I am in desperate need of help. I just graduated from RUMC Malaysia which is one of RCSI's branches and I did my pre-clinical in RCSI as well. My degree comes from National University of Ireland. What are the possible routes available for me if I wanted to migrate to Australia to work and specialise as a doctor there. Do I need to work elsewhere prior to coming to Australia? Thank you so much in advance for any help you can provide.
Your all videos are very informative with best communication way. Here is one question, if 4 year Clinical radiology training is completed with FCPS from pakistan then It possible to clear CAP? Or which Pathway is best? Thanks in advance for ur reply
@@EmergencyFocusbut Dr as u mentioned in video that , if you've finished ur training/Postgraduate degree in home country then after 3years experience specialist pathway or another option is Go to Short training program/work as GP for 6months?? (I'm Fcps OBS-GYN from-Pakistan)
This is amazing. I am a american student DO student at the texas college of medicine. How do i know if my medical course at the end of my degree is onshore or offshore?
I graduated back in 2016 and done my house job., I dont have not much clinical experience. Will I be able to secure a job in Australia if I pass both amc1 and amc2 ? Or, should I work in a teaching hospital for a year or so and then sit the amc exams?
I often get asked by IMGs, how long after passing AMC does one get a job in Australia? Getting job offers has little to do with AMC 1 or 2 and even PLAB for UK jobs. Getting your first medical job is a combination of 3 key things 1. Your relevant clinical experience in a good hospital 2. Your clinical, procedural and communication skills 3. The quality of your job application & interview performance It is essential to have licencing exams. It's more important to have a relevant clinical experience. In the last 12 months, I have seen doctors immediately getting shortlisted after completing their recency of clinical experience. And doctors (given preference) working in high demand jobs like ED, Medicine and ICU for last 6-12 months in their own country Ofcourse, there are doctors who will get job offers only after internship / 6 months of RMO work and AMC1 only, but in my experience (preparing them for interview), they have little or no clinical gap + high quality applications and top notch interview skills
Thank you for guide. Can you clear more about USMLE process. If we have USMLE certificate and have experience on other country then can we apply for it?? Is there any easy way for that!!!
hello dr Rizwan. I have taken USMLE steps 1 and 2, I am currently in Nigeria preparing for step 3. I would love to use the CAP pathway. I dont know how to go about getting a job offer in australia so i can complete the 12 months requirement. I need help and I'll be grateful if you can guide me.
Hello sir very informative video I am from Pakistan, passed FCPS in gynae and obs and ja 4 years post Fcps experience sir what are my chances to get Hos there in CAP ? Sir what would be first step ? To find job or to verify degree ? Waiting for your answer
First step is to contact the College RANZCOG and present them with your credentials 🪪 for assessment and an interview for recognition. Next step they will give you most likely partial recognition and then your have to apply for supervised clinical position as senior registrar in O&G. Once you have the job offer you will then apply to AMC and later the AHPRA board for registration
Hello Dr Rizwan, if a doctor from Pakistan has completed his MBBS and house job and wants to applh for Australia through competent pathways, what would you advice him?
As somone who has completed both plab exams and has got full GMC registration, what kind of job should i look to find in the UK to be vaild in australia? I understand it is an internship equivalent job. Im not very clear what that means, some help would be appreciated.
Hi thank you for the clear concepts...but if no plab. But gmc Uk on basis of USMLE +one year Uk experience non training or training...does it fit in any equation for amc exemption??
One can get GMC registration via multiple routes. Australian registration via competent authority pathway as mentioned on AHPRA website is (PLAB1&2+ 12 month UK work experience). Clarify with AMC/ AHPRA your specific issue.
Hello can you please make a video talking about Section 19AB restricted doctors and access to Medicare on the Australian Govt health website. Could you please explain it to us? Thanks.
Hello Dr Rizwan, You are doing great work. I really appreciate it. Kindly make video on partially comparsble MRCGP SA pathway if possible. I made AMC and EPIC account. I am stuck in RACGP regs process and AHPRA. I ll be thankful if you can assist in above pathway
Sir i have cleared my plab exams this year. So after completion of 12 months fy2 level training in the UK can I directly apply for radiology training in australia without any work experience or exam in Australian?
Are the 'specialist pathway' and 'CAP specialist pathway' are same pathways? And which pathway will be suitable for GMC registered Dr with FRCEM ( with out PLAB and without CCT) and 2 year UK experience. Thank you
Do AMC part 1 and then come here via Short term training pathway … after 2 year switch to your chosen training pathway … easy route amc 1 is a good back up
Please elaborate about graduate of medical courses in Ireland, and by Attaining GMC through Mrcp, are we eligible to go for Competent authority pathway? Someone who has applied for standard pathway and not yet given his CAT exams and wants to go for competent authority pathway is he eligible for that?
I wanted to ask that i you got your IMC Registration through PRES Exemption route and you work in Ireland for a year straight or more, would you be eligible to apply for Provisional CAP then through Experience Criteria?
Hello doctor, I am a Consultant Radiation Oncologist from India working in Gulf as of now post MD with 4 years experience planning to clear my FRCR and apply for specialist pathway Australia. Hi. I have 10yrs experience overall postMBBS. And 9yrs post MD, but I am MD in Community Health Administration from India ,so just wanted to know any scope for me in Australia .I have been into clinical practice since then .

Will residency expereincy in any of the ACGME-I accredited residency program in pakistan will be accepted in the experience component of the application process? e.g. AKU has been accredited by ACGME-I so residency experience of 2 years in AKU will be accepted?
Hi doctor, If am from Pakistan and done only usmle step 1 and 2 and certified by ECFMG can i be exempted from AMC exams apply for CAP?? without having experience in USA as i live in Pakistan?
f you have your USMLE steps cleared and your ECFMG certification along with mandated work experience to support it, you are eligible to apply for the competent pathway to work directly as a doctor in Australia without AMC exams!
Hi, thanks for your comment! The degree will not get you through the Australian board for registration alone. However, experience in the UK with GMC certification can render you eligible for the competent pathway. If you wish for personalized insight, I recommend you book a 1:1 session with me where we can discuss your options in great detail! www.emergencyfocus.net/booking-calendar/1-1-specialist-pathway
Hi sir im currently doing prep for plab 2 after clearing this and working in nhs for 1 year can i apply by the competent pathway for australia and bypass amc mcq and clinicals?? Please reply sir.
If someone has done mbbs from pakistan and then get himself registered in irish medical counsel (IMC registration). Is he eligible for competent authority pathway? Or only graduates of ireland (primary mbbs degree from ireland) are eligible?
