The classic video follows the legendary Don "the Snake" Prudhomme and Tom 'the Mongoose" McEwen on a match race tour throughout the midwestern United States. Lots of dry hops and candid interviews with the legends of Funny Car racing.
Ah million thank yous to whom ever took their time to share this fantatstic video... The greatest birthday present that I ever recieved or would ever recieve. The Hotwheels Snake & Mongoose funny car drag race set.. September 5th 1969. thanks agin for sharing this video.
Thank you for posting this, I was just a 10 or 12 year old boy when this was made, but I had my Snake Hot Wheel funny car that I raced against my brothers and friends, and put together his models of the funny cars. Then as a young man, saw him at the drag strips, followed him as an owner, one of my idols, thanks again.
I am gw88Swann, You are my favorite dragster “Snake”, along with the “Mongoose” Tom McEwen of all time. I have “Hot Wheel Die Cast” of just about every car you and the Mongoose drove! And in all different sizes as well. I made my Man Cave in honor of you and Tom! Love you man, Keep on draggin King!!!
Amazing they were even able to film anything with those cheap assed cameras.and garbage film...just looknat the beginning of this on the race track.. Disgustingly disgraceful treating these times like this knowing it and this would be history..
Hogwash. Racist hogwash. Are you promoting your "one drop" theory over here? He is not predominantly African. He is French, possibly mixed with some Moroccan, or, possibly has some Moor forefathers as many people born in France, Spain, Italy, Greece and the rest of Southern Europe for that matter. He appears almost as the some of the Sicilians that I know. That is *Roman* ,southern European.. His nationality on Wikipedia is listed as American/French Creole. I believe that to be accurate. Regardless of what his "racial background" is he is one fine competitor. An it is an honor to have been acquainted to him at the race track, as one of many of his hundreds of thousands of supporters. Wish I had the opportunity to have known him as a friend.
It doesn't matter what nationality, race, or religion Don Prudhomme is. He worked hard and earned the respect of every person that's ever shook his hand, there are few people who've ever walked on this earth that that can be said about. Don put on a show for his fans, and always competed at the highest level, that's why he has so many of them, and fans like me who are in constant awe of the man.
