The potential of competitive Mario Sluggers is great, and just beginning to be realized! Explore our new Sluggers website: mariosluggers.com Join our Discord server: / discord Follow us on Twitter: / sluggersfanclub
That's awesome that the tournament went really well! Hopefully the Sluggers community will continue to grow! If a new Mario Baseball doesn't come out, I would wish Nintendo do the next best thing with like a Mario Baseball All-Stars where it would combine content from both Sluggers and Superstar Baseball where players could customize all sorts of options to play offline or online. Online leaderboards for mini-games would be icing on the cake! Maybe also add something similar to Mario Golf Super Rush and have an RPGish Story Mode where it acts as a tutorial and you can level up your Mii?
Personally I’m fine with Miis. Though that’s just because I stubbornly use Luigi as my captain every time, and because his only two non-Mii chem links are top 5 characters in the game (Mario and Daisy), it’s not impossible that they both get picked, so I either have to accept that there’s a chem break or I have to use a Green Mii. I have done way too much analysis of a Luigi captain team. I literally only pick the character due to heavy bias and now I have analyzed seemingly every possible way to link characters to Luigi. What am I doing with my time
Tournament was rigged obviously. But all in all I had a good time and hope to see more people playing in the elo system, as you only truly get better by playing against others at a similar or slightly higher skill level
Good to see the competitive scene get a shoutout! SwirlingCoffee is a legend for making the elo system and I am grateful to see the crop of players excited to play games every night. I hope this continues and maybe, just maybe, I can creep up to the top spot! (I will not but a guy can dream.) Also you mentioned wanting to set something up for something organized in the Midwest? If you are serious then I would be glad to help out and organize something, especially if it is in Illinois. 😄
As an MSB player I have so much respect for how this game is being played. It's refreshing to see the unique parts of the game being embraced (items, etc) and utilized instead of being removed like they are in MSB currently. Having casual/semi-casual options are great and will bring in more players, and I think that's worth it instead of catering only to super serious players and it will keep players around longer as well. The games are supposed to be fun haha
Bro, Chizplays and Quack should join in on the Mario Sluggers online action. Seeing them competing in a tournament would be pretty interesting, and entertaining to watch.
