After watching SUCCESS CHASERS and the like for so many years, it’s good to see the man himself putting out motivational super cuts. And it’s exactly what I was looking for today, when this popped into my feed.
"As useless as I am at least I could move that from there to there." Wow. That's rather profound when you think on it. I need to start working on that.
There is no doubt in my mind that you, Jordan Peterson, are the greatest thinker of our generation. I thank you for all that you are doing as you are bearing the weight of the suffering for a lot of us.
When did suffering become such a bad thing? How else do we grow? There is a lot of power in overcoming habits and challenges. I appreciate how clearly Peterson delineates life.
You can't be a narcissistic, emotionally fragile snowflake who needs safe spaces, such as the last two generations, and grow from suffering. You have to be as tough as the ones who settled this land during the first couple hundred years of American history. (Edit: Removed an extra space between "who" and "settled".)
@@angelus_solus, I understand your point, but we can't write off entire generations. I should add that appeasing them is just another form of writing them off. They are going to have to pull their heads out and realize they are not the center of the universe. And we will have to bear with them. The ones that get it will be grateful for the tough love and the ones that don't will remain the same embittered twits they already are.
@@bobg.3206 Well, of course we can't write them off...as if they're nothing but a permanent lost cause. I was simply pointing out what the majority of those generations are choosing to be, and part of that is from how they were raised...as well as contaminating propaganda from the educational system. I'm sure a lot of them will figure out Copernicus was right and they're not the earth, and they will be better for it. The ones that don't, well...not much you can say about that.
Facing suffering is key but the real fruits of healing is when your story of redemption helps inspire someone else to heal from their own. Suffering is a tricky subject because some is self induced and some from our egos reactions to our environment. Reduce the ego to a small child instead of a dictator. Look at your ego from the spirit mind and see clearly the destructive patterns of self that must be shed for for the process of God’s redemption to manifest in that persons life.
Accepting that life is suffering is a Buddhist principle. The way you deal with that suffering is basically by being disciplined and living a good life. It’s interesting to see different philosophies in his teaching.
On the internet yesterday, while searching for something else, I came across an article by a couple of European academics critical of Jordan Peterson. If I hadn't been intelligent enough to see through it, it could have pulled the wool over my eyes, because qualified educated academics who are articulate are also capable of seriously influencing thought processes. But the truth of the matter is that if somebody articulate decides they just don't like somebody, or they support something demonstrably nuts like communism, they can comes up with endless impressive long words and references to justify their fundamentally emotional position, even in the face of evidence. (Like a theologian.) But it remains a rationalisation for emotion, not genuine intelligence or the irresistible march of a bit of common sense. And those writers just didn't like Jordan or what he means or represents. So the whole focus of their long attack had to be on his "style" and his "image" and his "presentation", because they could not risk engaging properly with his meaning or his content. And this three-minute clip, all by itself, annihilates their position and just makes me feel even more sorry for their poor indoctrinated brains.
Learn to analyze that which you can't change with compassion and stop identifying with your suffering. If you can't live on your own yet, at least focus on that as a possibility. If they encroach on your well being, learn to set boundaries and stick up for yourself. Most struggle we face we subject ourselves to, even if we don't realize it at the time. Good luck.
Perhaps realise that 3 things keep us stuck in toxic families and prevent us from making clear decisions. Fear, Obligation, Guilt. FOG. Recovery looks like developing/enforcing healthy personal boundaries, grey rock/medium chill communication or no contact if possible.
Jordan I think would say Confront this suffering and take responsibility. So, make sure you are not the victim, pick up yourself to stand above it. If people are toxic, they are mostly very very hurt in some way, it is sad. Don't let their suffering pull you down too much my friend. Maybe look for ways that they are open to love...
I'm a mobile crane operator who packs shingles on roofs all day, after my shift I hit the gym then head home, kiss my wife and raise hell with my 5 little ones. It all feels very full of meaning most of the time. You can do it.
Miss this guy deeply.. the new JP. Is so full of anger and hate,. The man is not Well, crying all the Time, and every time you see him now he is angry and crying, talks hatefull of people.. it is so sad i just cant belive this father figur of ours went that way.. please get well soon JP. And please Keep your brilliant head out off politiks, it is not your calling. And it’s not good for you soul... Wish you the best JP
Politics is life and life is political. You can't divorce yourself from it unfortunately, as much as we might wish we could. Also its a huge way for him to generate money/income after losing other sources of income over the past few years. Crying is not a sign of weakness or bad, he's always cried about anything important to him, see lots of his old lectures where he talks about his children tenderly, or hard experiences that tested him personally. He's growing as a person and angry/bitter phases are part of life. See his lectures on such, its part of the Older hero's journey. He's figuring out what is right and helpful for him. We don't see the financial side, we don't see the personal side much, so I don't think it's right to assume much. Also telling the truth or at least don't lie is a big part of his conscience, so he sees dangerous politics and his lectures have always had political notes. He's not infallible by any means, nor does he claim to be, but he's accepting a role/opportunity and this journey is his. We can be fans of his old work while he goes through other growth phases and don't have to love all his content or ideas. Take the good, like any other subject and let people evolve and grow.

How would you feel if you were in a constant battle with an opposition that refuses to concede on any sensible grounds of morality and reality? You should be rooting for him now more than ever, because he speaks for all those that understand the world is sick. His tears are the result of caring so deeply and fighting harder than he ever thought he would have to.
I feel the same way a little bit. He is at his best when he is counseling people. Reading through his twitter before it was suspended, it’s like he’s a different person on there. There’s so much good to him and he’s inspired so many people, so don’t worry. His best messages are being carried forward.
ya try telling this to the people of shrilanka mr peterson. men are tired of lifting other peoples loads, and tired of you telling us to enslave ourselves to a degenerate society
