Kam Mike, you never watched SOAP. They had two black butlers who gave the white family nothing but shit and they never got rid of either one. One only left cause he got a spin-off.
+Kam Mike White people hire more black people than black people hire black people so it is not true that white people would fire him. The actor lives that played him lives in the UK as well and speaks real English not fake knockoff American English which had the words made easier to spell because the real English is to hard for Americans to spell so they needed a basic version made for them.

The funniest thing about it all is that Joseph Marcell is a highly trained & respected Shakespearean actor here in the UK, I think a lot of viewers thought it was a put on with not being used to the type of elocution he has honed for Theatre. He serves on the board of the Globe theatre in london.
@Christian Sampson Actually it's the same reason The Jeffersons put up with Florence, The Tates put up with Benson or The Sheffields put up with Niles... They're like family so they have that freedom lol. Geoffrey wouldn't act like this with anyone else.
@@kendallrivers1119 I thought when Carlton and Will played the lottery trick on Geoffrey and he left Uncle Phil hit the roof........but that showed that he was family...... That was one of the funniest episodes.
Geoffrey certainly evolved over the series. I mean he started out all snooty like any other butler but he started wisecracking and wasn't afraid to let anyone know

My favorite Geoffrey wise crack is when Uncle Phil is taking boogie lessons, the guy says "Bend over and move your groove thing," Geoffrey comes back with, "If that's a groove the Grand Canyon is a ditch!"
