[PLEASE READ] This is compilation of Tiffany Hwang of Girls' Generation talking about/to her parents. I'm really thankful for all the views and likes this video has received, especially because it's only a poor-quality one. I hope that, after watching this, everyone appreciates their parents more... because unlike SNSD members, they probably see them everyday.
For background information on Tiffany's family... Tiffany's father is apparently part of a Southeast Asia hotel chain. Her mother was probably involved in the arts. (These are just rumours.) Her sister, Michelle, studied anthropology in Berkeley. Her brother, Leo (who coincidentally has the same birthday as her), is living in Philippines with his Filipino wife (/watch?v=nYAMmK7rLuA). He appeared on an episode of Minute To Win It, introduced as Billy Crawford's friend (/watch?v=XXnSbDy3unU).

Tiffany's mom died even before her debut, but she only admitted it a few years after snsd debut? It must be really hard for her that's why she kept it first, and maybe the reason why she really pushed to go to korea and join SM to move on, even her dad opposed it at first.

I cried when she talked about her mom leaving her with 8 sisters. Tiffany is really strong. I don't know what I would have done of I had lost my mom at such a young age. I'm sure her mother is really proud of her. I don't believe in God but I believe that she's watching over Tiffany from somewhere. Tiffany unnie, fighting!

Always knew she had bad relationships with her father but never thought it was that bad to the point she had to lost contact with him. And I feel extremely shocked knowing about how her mother passed away. Whoever thought behind that bright smile, had sad stories behind it. Truly a definition of an idol for me. Personally, I never admire her as an artist but as a person, she's an amazing person clearly. I can see that through how people around her treated her.

Yeah I went looking for videos too. So he was already burdening her with debts even when she's so kind to him. We knew Fany was an angel but we didn't know she was a saint. When she hugs Soo in that clip it's really heartwarming since Soo's parents helped her negotiate with SM.

I love this so much. I can't believe I just saw this.You did a beautiful job compiling all of the moments together. She's come so far in change of personality from a cheerful young girl who didn't know much to a mature lady who is always enthusiastic. It's a pity that those who look down on her and judged her and her parents for the way she behaved diddn't take the time to see what she had to deal and how hard it may have been to just have her dad raise her without her mom by her side.

Part of me feels like Tiffany only took the name Tiffany as her stage name/ new name because she knew it’s what her mom originally hoped to name her. It’s almost as if, because she understood her mother could never see her debut, that she wanted to dedicate her debut and years of training in a foreign country to her mom. To be born again as an artist and performer with the name her mother gave her.

She was born in SF, but she grew up in SoCal in Diamond Bar, CA. I happen to live in Walnut, CA which borders Diamond Bar, exactly where Tiffany went to middle school and a couple years of high school too.

I'm in tears rn. That moment when they all got emotional when Tiffiny said 'she left me with eight sisters'. I've seen people say snsd don't actually like each other, or they always compete with one another, but you can see how false that is in moments like this.

Her mom passed away about 2 years before she headed to Korea, when she was 14. It's a little murky on whether it was due to cancer or a suicide related to depression. Tiffany and her father have a somewhat strained relationship apparently. Taeyeon's parents kind of "adopted" her when she arrived in Korea and roomed with Taeyeon at the dorm. Before it was publicly known that her mother was deceased the girls were fiercely protective of her knowing how upset talk of moms made her.

Tiffany's mother passed away before she moved to Korea, which is before 2004. She didn't pass away in 2009.

@@stormi7069 I don't know when, but at some point Tiffany and him grew apart and stopped talking for a while, until when he got into some huge debts with somebody who made the lawsuit public, so allegedly he tried to force Tiffany into paying his debts with HER OWN money after ignoring her for years, with the excuse that she's his daughter and must follow his orders as such (the weird respect complex some Korean seniors have y'know), so after the sensationalist headlines popped with Tiffany's name on it (as if she was the one that owed the money) she came forward stating that she hadn't talked with him for a long time and isn't planning on doing so, so I'm pretty much sure that statement soured even more their relationship

Jessica's mom is american, her mom name was anna heirry. But, jessica and krystal follow their dad who is korean, and have that 'jung' name. Jessica told that before, she revealed it at star golden bell, which is a long time ago. Krystal also told the beatles code mc that her moms name was anna and her mom is american. And tiffany, I am not sure since tiffany has not talking much about that ;)

I am crying watching her. Tiffany lost her mom since she was 11, right? She leave her family from the states to Korea when she was young as a trainee in SM. That's why Taeyeon adores her, take cares her & protects her. She has a lots of weakness due to Taeyeon word. If I were Taengoo I would protect & love Tiffany too. Tiffany Ah, please have a happy life & smile, your smile makes many people happy & excited. I'm a girl too but Tiffany is the girl that make me fall for her deeply...

Tiffany is pure korean both her parents is korean .. in korea if you are american citizen although you are pure blooded korean you're considered as korean american. FYI her dad is not american .. same as jessica she's also pure korean

If i'm not mistaken..at that time..2007-2008..Wonder Girls is at 1st place in Korea..but then 2009 they went to promoting in US..GG became big hit when releasing Gee in the Sept 2009 & be the 1st from then 'till now..if i'm not mistaken..correct me if i'm wrong 😅

To clear up the confusion, Tiffany's father isn't fully Korean. Her mother is Korean (based on her name, Miyeon & a photo of her), and since Tiffany is Korean-American, her father is American.
