I left my house to go to the beach in Santa Barbara after there had been a landfill fire about a half mile away. A new blaze had started about 10 miles from my home as I left. By the time I rode my bike downtown maybe 2-3 miles there was ash landing in town. Lss I tried to go back home about 1 1/2 hours later and was turned away, my house was gone.
@@WTU208 Three miles sounds like a good visibility rating? Where I live you can see ten times that far on an average day. air quality in the 1950s was horrible, up here mainly from incinerators at sawmills.
