In this presentation Jon Hall goes over several of his personal collections that are fun to pursue without breaking the bank. These are great ideas for existing collectors if you are stalling out and want something fun to play around with. As most of these items are readily available at Trade-O-Rees in dollar bins they are great starting points for new collectors. In fact Jon, a collections merit badge councilor, will often encourage the youth he works with to work on one of these topics. The three collections covered in this video include Gum Back Patrol Medallions, Type F Merit Badges, and Generic Camporee patches. It may also interest you to take a look at the generic camporee patch portion of the presentation if you collect all the issues from your local council. I know that my own council did use a number of the patches Jon shows.
