I'm 63, started singing about 17 years ago when my husband and I were on vacation in Florida. Went to a few karaoke places. One of the KJ's had recording equipment, and recorded us as a surprise. Told us to keep practicing. We got to hear what we sounded like lol. Met alor of great singers there and when we got home. Led to lessons for a year, and a recording a small CD for fun. We sang in my late mom's nursing home, then lost my enthusiasm over the last few years. I had bronchitis so many times. Been actively practicing again for the last year. In the early days, there were no online coaches like now. This is a great alternative for simple exercises that make a huge difference. I'm finding as i am getting older, I have had to make adjustments. But always remember to sing in your own style. My goal is to sing in nursing homes again ❤
Keep going that's so great. I'm 65 and l love singing . I just started getting back into it I used to sing at my mom's nursing home those people would light up like Christmas trees it was so beautiful to see🎤🎤 Pittsburgh PA
I love the way she moves us through the exercises. She gets right to the exercise with clear direction. Most sites I have gone to, the instructor just talks and talks and talks and talks and talks! Then a little bit of exercise then talks again😮
Dearest Singeo. Thank you. You are such a joy and a blessing. Thank you so much for offering your vocal expertise on RU-vid. I am truly grateful. Thank you for sharing your God given talent and gift this way. God bless you. Continued health, happiness, joy blessings much love and success😊❤.😊😊
Just did it - it's midnight and this relieved the tension from some frustrating experiments to sing higher through the day. I'm doing this my daily warm up, thank you! ❤
have been doing it for over a month and it made a difference, plus is still fun to do it and with the graphic is very easy to follow. My favourite one so fer
The hum to Es back to hums really opened my sinuses. I do a lot of vocal warmups for my voice because I'm a professional singer as well as a musical theatre singer and these warmups really push me to open up in a good way
Thank you so much for these exercises. They are so much easier yet more effective than some others I’ve tried. I’m not left with any hoarseness and enjoyed them; in fact only after one or two sessions my voice has improved and I can hit the high notes with so much ease and better sound. I’m an older senior and it feels good that my voice is even better than it was when in my 40s.
Wow, this warmup is a game changer! I really appreciate the extra info along the way, helping to connect the dots between what's happening on screen with what's happening with my voice. I feel like I sang with so much more freedom and comfort after this, thank you!!
I've been doing some of your vocal exercises and piano I love u like your the best vocal singing and piano teacher I wish I could meet you in real life
Lisa, l believe you are the best online singing coaches with videos like this. Over the last few months l have listened to my voice and it sounds amazing. But lm not going to take the credit- you made me what l am.😅❤
I'm so glad to have these videos now. I've been on vocal rest recovering from straining my voice doing bad warm ups for a couple months (before I knew that pushing your voice is actually not good for it), and these exercises are so easy to do as I'm easing myself back into singing. And my voice sounds even better than it did before, having done these warm ups. I'm joining a choir really soon and I was worried that I had busted my voice too much for it but now with these I think it's gonna be okay.
I'm a singer of a particular age also. And these exercises really help. A lot I tried to do them every day . I sang at my mom's nursing home also and those people loved it music is the center of everyones soul .god bless u keep going 🎤🎤🎤
Thank you Lisa, I was grateful that I got to practice with my keys today practice both my keys and my singing at the same time grateful to be able to do this practice. I’ve been wanting to do this for a long time. love and light. Have a great day.
I love how you have visuals and practice with so I can hear too. Thank you for this. As someone that’s had vocal tension and nodules, this helps me get to where I need to be. I’m glad this video popped up in my feed.
There are vocal exercises and vocal warm ups these are 2 different things so I don't know which exercise is a warm up and which one is a vocal exercise please help me out make up a list for 2 different things I'm a complete beginner so I'm try to get the right path and your teaching has motivated me.
Hii!! Just wanted to thank you for the awesome content and the energy you bring to each an every video. I love singing but warming was always kind of like the tedious part, but since I discovered your videos I actually enjoy warming up. Love to do these daily. So thank you!
Thank you Lisa I do these daily they are amazing. I also am a muse or a member, so I am on Messages or I believe so frizzle last exercise in this one if I could just make a little suggestion, I use a raw I do still feel like we’re working, but it takes more strain off of my vocals when I use the straw. 10:42
Coach, I've try everything and it's fun. Especially the lip trills, it showers too much and I can't lip trills halfway anymore. 🤭 I need more practice. Thank you for sharing. God bless you.
Hello, I personally thank you for your great tips and practice that you give, it help me improve my vocal, do you have guide for people like me that have flat voice ?
I would love if you explained a bit more the purpose behind each exercise, what it's doing to help warm up the voice, like when you explained the importance of the tongue.
Thank you without your vocal lessons I uploaded At Last by Etta James on Utube. I took a spin on the song. I appreciate you r lessons it has made better to sing this great classic song. Thank you thank you
Go up and down the keys every day when u feel u are comfy.. try to go one key higher.. each day go one key higher u will get there.. practice practice practice!
Sounds like you might be suffering from some tension. Are you also losing sound? Try preparing your throat as if you are about to yawn and make some gentle "maaa" sounds. Also the lip trill (as demonstrated on video) is a good exercise for gentle working through range. Important not to push and only gently stimulate the vocal chords allowing change to happen over time. Gentle puppy sighs on a "mmm" sound are also a good way to explore upper register. Just don't push (easier said than done, we all get impatient for quick results, I know, but actually pushing can slow your progress). N.B. I say this as a fellow singer and not as a trained vocal coach or voice expert.
