It's not it is so painful to see these types of ignorant comments from people. Go type in "how to pronounce carbine" and then thank me and apologize. Lol it isn't actually painful, but you are just wrong. I used to say it your way too, and in a way both are right because everyone knows what you mean and nobody sensible actually cares. But mine is the actual military way.
Welp You learn something new every day, I had always heard it carbine but then again I’m from Idaho and were not the brightest people, thank you for correcting me and sorry for my comment. The way it was pronounced caught me off guard big time but that was my bad for saying something. Keep up the great content and sorry for my mistake
@@darthgamer2014 As an offensive weapon flamethrowers are pretty bad. All flash no substance, great for niche roles and terrifying infantry but responsible for very few actual battlefield casualties. Banning them is a bit redundant, most modern military's wouldn't actually want one.
3:07 OMG YOU ACTUALLY MENTION IT!! I fell in love with the quad blaster when I saw it during the orignal clone wars show and it's so forgotten despite being one of the most unique and most badass sci fi heavy weapons I've ever seen!
Really? I just watched the 2D Clone Wars last night, and was reminded how every time I see that quad blaster it makes me shake my head. I honestly think it looks like someone’s 5 or 6 year old wanted to design a blaster for the show, and their parent had enough power to make it happen
The gun tho that’s some fun shit to walk with in RPG cause I may never move when I fire that weapon but by the end of the day... I’ll be the one walking out of the room that I’m attacked it
The dc-15a was the rifle in legends, the dc-15s was the carbine in legends. The dc-15a was the carbine in canon. The canon and legends versions were the same size and length
Boba Fett in one of the Clone Wars episode called the DC-15s the DC-15a (shows that he didn’t know much about GAR weaponry). I think that’s why LucasFilm went with the way of naming the blaster rifles used by the clone troopers.
I remember talking to friends about the ionized bolts and them calling me crazy, I always recalled reading about this being why they were blue but was getting to the point that I thought I was not remembering correctly, is this cannon or legends?
Joseph Montanaro the colour of a blasters shots changes depending on the type of gas used, red uses cheap gas, yellow uses refined, expensive gas and blue is indeed ionised
@@toboronicon841 no yellow is not “just the one mandolorians used”,it was the one with the highest quality by a fairly large margin, it was the premium stuff for the best of the best. Green was still high quality but not quite as good
I mean, it kinda is, the only one that is comparable in quality is the imperial army and pound per pound the clones were just better as far as training, competence, and battlefield effectiveness goes, really the only negativr to the clone army (aside from the whole child slavery thing) was the absurd cost of it
@@TimberwolfJ1 Agreed. The mandalorians were a hell of a military too, but the clones are descended from a mandalorian and have mandalorian inspired training.
Wait... so the Clones' weapons were extra effective against droids, thus making them more expensive, and nobody thought it odd that they were equipped with them right form then start, even though theoretically, they shouldn't have known ahead of time that they would be fighting a droid army?
I mean with the whole naboo take over/war it was pretty obvious to the republic what kind of enemy theyd have to arm agaisnt (just like what bunch of countries did irl to not fall behind military wise) and they had atleast 5 years to "prepare" the clone tech between that and the start of the clone wars. to the rep populace, they had no clue a clone army was in making and all of its quirks and features, nor when it was made.
I mean, it was years between the invasion on Naboo with a droid army and when arms and training for the clone army would be considered, with it being known that the separatists favored droid combatants. It wouldn't be a stretch for the Kaminoans to conclude that their clones were most likely going to be facing a prodominately droid force in that political climate. If the Jedi or Senate were to question that point, but not WHO commissioned the clones in the first place, they'd just be bigger idiots than they were.
@@prometheus8010 its fact. But green is also more expensive, which is why it was used heavily on imperial star destroyers and other imperial vessels. This is because the empire has more money.
Even though the dc series blasters could fire full auto, the clones were trained to fire single shots and only go full auto if as a last ditch effort, because the rifle would overheat.
*puts Z-6 on cardboard box* I am heavy weapons trooper. And THIS is my weapon. She fires 200 credit custom tibanna cartridges at 166 rounds a second. It costs 400,000 credits to fire this weapon, for 12 seconds.
@@Burning-Twilight Some people think they can outsmart me? Maybe... (sniff) Maybe... I have yet to meet one who can outsmart plasma bolt. *pulls out ammo clip in front of camera*
If I had a weapons factory in the Star Wars universe, I would build slug throwers/ firearms as they are far more effective on the battlefield than blasters, also you can kill Jedi and other lightsaber wielders, especially if said slug thrower is full auto
There was a reletively unknown republic weapon used by clone shadow troopers called the dc-15e. Its bolts were much hotter and there was little to no tracers in the blaster bolts and I think it may have been suppressed as well but take that with a pinch of salt
Bit of a inaccuracy, the valken was actually based more on the MG-42 as you can tell by the battlefront 2 model, where the barrels are virtually identical, including the clip that allowed german gunners to remove the barrel when it overheated. great video though, the guns are often confused.
I have an idea for a video you can make. There’s a ship that nobody seems to talk about, it’s called the victory class 2 frigate (not the victory class star destroyer) starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Victory_II-class_frigate it’s underrated and nobody seems to talk about it unfortunately
So did Republic. But to be fair, all modern armies rely on artillery and vehicles to deal most of the damage, while infantry secures the ground for them
I’m torn between the DC-17 and the Z-6. On the one hand, you can take down a B2 in one single shot, On the other hand, you can take down a B2 in *ALL* the shots
Got a guess for the yellow bolts from Mandalore and the purple shots from the Geonosian fighters. I think that there are either specific mixtures relative to the planet or have different gasses mixed in due to to the harvesting process. Mando shots are probably just normal red but with a gas form of Beskar mixed in, with something similarly unique from Geonosis (their normal metals came out pink after all)
The carbines have always bugged the hell out of me, as the folding stock pivots in front of the trigger group, guard and pistol grip? How in God’s name does that thing actually extend??? Not to mention, if despite the swing hinge it somehow rotates to the side, the thing is barely long enough to make it to the end of the rifle, so extended the rifle might be 1-2 inches longer than with it collapsed.
Metanerdz, the Valken isn't based on the MG-34, but on the FG-42 paratrooper rifle: it has the angled grip and left side magazine of the Fallschirmgewehr.
"A 0.05 meter hole in ferrocrete" Assuming that’s both width and depth and given that ferrocrete is described as a combination of iron and concrete in legends. Violent fragmentation for a concrete cylinder .05 meters across and .05 meters deep is 1,964 joules and for iron it’d be 4,166.626 joules So in terms of energy about the same as various real world full caliber rifle rounds like .308 Winchester (~3,500 Joules) and, very appropriately for the DC-15, about the same as the 7.92x57mm Mauser round used by the MG-34 (~3,000 Joules)
0.5 meter. Not 0.05. Scale that up by ten. Having a blaster bolt be about as powerful as a modern day ballistic round really doesnt fit with most of the other Star Wars stuff.
I double checked with the wiki. It said 0.05. Also it wouldn't scale up by ten, it'd be a factor of 1000. Volume doesn't scale linearly, it scales exponentially. And no, blaster bolts being that much more powerful than modern KE weapons wouldn't make sense, Star Wars weapons are not that powerful. Most of the effects we see are either comparable to modern weapons or weaker. We mostly see blasters as being roughly equal to modern firearms in everything but capacity and anything heavier tends to be rather anemic for their size.
@@redshirt0479 Always did wonder why they seem bigger and heavier considering their ammunition basically weighs nothing. Maybe its the focusing crystal and gas
4:34-5:03 That Commando Pistol is rather similar to the Standard Jet Force Pistol from Jet Force Gemini. The Jet Force Pistol (at it's basics when you start a new game) comes with 100 shots per magazine pack, and could rapid fire up to 7 shots before a brief recharge to ready more shots. Limiting your rapid fire was the trick to keep a decent stream going in a firefight. If you really wanted to factor in Ammo Extensions, you could reasonably say 500-800 based on how smart you play with dividing out the upgrades between Juno, Vela, and Lupus. As for power, the Commandos may have a stronger shot, but the Jet Force Pistol has far higher ammo capacity. The Jet Force Pistol also comes with an (unlimited, but not well specified) weaker pellet shot if regular ammo runs out and no more ammo is on hand.
The fact you call it a magazine instead of a clip makes you one of my favorite lore you tubers. It doesn’t matter in the grand scheme but it bugs me to death when others make that mistake
Sup Meta, Could cover the Providence-class Destroyer/Carrier as a complete thorough breakdown like you did with the Lucrehulk battleship and Lucrehulk core ship?
Idk where it's from, but I heard of a DP-24. Basically a DP-23, but instead of shotgun, it was a LMG. Not sure where it came from, but I remember seeing it in a game or two... might've been a game like Gmod, but still... That's my personal favorite! :3
5:50 Not to be "that guy", but isn't Dengar holding a DLT-19 in that picture? And to add to the facts at the end, the Walken was based more on the MG42, not the 34. To be more precise it was made from the front half of an MG42 and the back half of an FG42. It was the DLT-19 that was basically just an MG34 with a few rubber strips glued to the barrel.
So, how accurate is BF II 2017 representation of the DC-15A and the DC-15S?. The first is depicted as a "light machine gun", whereas the other behaves, well exactly as a carbine..... Thought it seem most troopers used it in semi automatic, and not completely in auto. I suppose they do that for accuracy reasons (unless they are too close to their objective, like in close quarters):
If I was a clone and had a choice I would be holding a dc 15s carbine in my hands, two dc 17s in holsters, and a dc 15a slung on my back Or I would, you know, just use a z6 heavy rotary blaster and scream “MAKE ‘EM EAT HEAT” every few seconds
Little mistake the MG 34 was not used for the Clone Sniper That was the MG42 or MG 3 it is hard to tell because they are almost the same gun, and the DC 15 is also the MG 3 you can see that on the stock....the MG 34 was used for the DLT 19, and that is also what the Bounty hunter Used, not the Sniper from the Clone wars because the DLT 19 came first to be in the age of the Empire
To me the dc-15A will always be the larger more powerful rilfe while the DC-15S will always be the shorter carbine cousin. while the DC-15s with a small s is the recharging pistol.
Valken Sniper Rifle is not based on the MG-34 it's based on the MG-42. A fun fact is that also in Mobile Suit Gundam there's a Sniper Rifle of the Zeon Remnant forces that's based on the MG-42.
I am Hevy, and this is my weapon. She weighs 16 kilograms and fires custom high-ion plasma rounds at 166 rps. It costs 400,000 credits to fire this weapon for twelve seconds.
@MetaNerdz Lore Fan theory on why Mandalorian bolts are yellow- The Mandalorians somehow have incorporated Sodium gas into the blaster bolt. Sodium gas in Vapor Lamps emits a yellow light, Sodium as well on contact at room temperature reacts violently in exothermic fashion. So if the Mandalorians could create a system what also includes sodium gas that could hypercondensate into a solid on impact, the reaction inside any living thing with water to provide the reaction could be used as a weapon. Thoughts?
There are only three weapons I'd use over Republic weapons. The e11 over the dc15a, the dlt19 over the dc15 and the t21 over the quad blaster. Other than that the GAR has the best infantry weapons in star wars hand down
Hey peeps how many hand held blaster cannons do think are out there. I have so far counted 2 models Han's DL-44 and the DC-17. If there are any I missed please tell me.
One little thing that he didn't mention although and kind of gotten incorrect though I don't mean to nitpick is that the valken sniper rifle is not in fact made from the mg34 in any capacity. It carries most of the receiver and buttstock of the fg42 which was a German paratrooper rifle, and a very rare one is that Is the Gen 1 variant which had a very swept-back pistol-grip in order to make it easier to carry, and the barrel is that of an mg42 as is evidenced by the stamped boxy Heat fin on the outside of the barrel
One thing I don't like about star wars is the huge difference between on screen examples and the "expanded universe" material which gives the most laughable stats that are clearly for fanboy service and book sales alone.
That classic pew of the early clone wars DC15 is always ingrained in my brain and wont come out, but it lives rent free as a potent reminder of the past.
