A common practice we've run into on older fields is the piling on of material over the years on the infield. Our Homefield Crew had to remove 700 tons of existing mixes to bring this infield down to proper grade before installing the DuraEdge Classic infield mix and grading it.
Big thanks to the 2021 PA 4A State Champs for having us to renovate their baseball field. Good luck next season!

We are glad you enjoyed it! We have a few more similar ones on the channel of some renovation projects we've done over the past few years too, if you'd like to get some more action.

Great job! For the French drain, did you dump dirt over the gravel? Won’t the dirt eventually work its way into the gravel and begin to clog the French drain?

We appreciate it. It was covered in stone and then the whole track was finished with our DuraTrax crushed brick. It's not dirt and will not have the issues that dirt would, clogging it up. Our specific installer on this job has done this many times at jobs in the area with great success.

I help maintain several baseball fields in my town. In August of last year dirt was brought in to restore the fields. Since then the dirt has turned rock solid. I have a homemade nail drag and a steel drag that I use to maintain them. After a good rain the nail drag just glides over the majority of the field. I think I need to use a tiller to loosen up the dirt. Does that sound right to yall?

Without knowing what kind of dirt it is specifically, we wouldn't be able to definitely say. However, keeping proper moisture in infield skins is very key. Tilling it up and compacting and watering sounds like the potential best option. You can always contact us, too: duraedge.com/contact-us-yt/

You likely need Turface MVP or some sort of infield conditioner. Had this issue at our local fields when we added dirt.

Looks like a lot of dirt was removed on the sub grade? What is the percentage of slope? Thx

Their field was very high. A common thing with a lot of older fields is they have added too much infield mix and kept building them up, thinking they were low. In this case it was very high from that and about 700 tons were removed to bring everything to proper grade. It is typical to grade around a 0.5% slope.

Too much music. Too much drone footage. Not enough ground footage. Thanks.
