I have the second kind of heart but what scares me is that whenever I am happy I tend to forget....i constantly need a "traumatic experience" to get me back to Allah. May Allah make us all have the first kind of heart. Ameen.

I know this video is old but it truly surprised me how validating it was. All my life all I knew of Islam was "they mistreat women and hate others, be afraid", but only a few months ago I started to look into the Truth and it was so fast. I wanted to convert after only a week of research, and I spoke the Shahada only about a month or two after that. Many people think it is ridiculous to convert to a religion without having studied for years and years, but in my heart I felt such amazement, such love for Islam, Allah (swt), and his Prophet (saw) that I knew this was what I had been searching for my whole life. I have much to do to become a better person, a better Muslim, and, in sha Allah, I will continue to strive towards that state, but I wonder if maybe Allah (swt) blessed me with the first heart. SubhanAllah He (swt) has blessed and protected me my whole life, Alhamdullilah, and only now do I see.

heart is called Qalb in ARABIC which literally means A CHANGING THING

This is really a battle to the heart And for person who want to go back to Allah and wants to taste the goodness of Iman and want to purify his heart My advice is ***stop the things you got attached in this world the things that are bad the things that caused your heart to become stone. ***And keep the zikr in allah every prayer and after read some Qur'an daily as possible as the prophet pbuh gave us an example The one who recites the Qur'an and the one who doesn't is like a living person and a dead person And the prophet pbuh told us not to make our homes graveyard *** on the day of judgment Allah will be looking what our hearts worked for and don't give up yet So clean your heart daily check it everyday as if you're taking care of your room or cleaning a place Have conversation with your self If you were resurrected today and Allah who knows everything and all calls upon me and looks what was in my heart and the only thing that is was the love of this world or the love of the bad habits Ask thts your self but to overcome that insha'Allah is go back return to Allah by doing as much zikr or reciting the Qur'an, seeking knowledge of your own religion things you didn't knew listen to any of the sheikh And be good with your family and friends and other people My last advice is If there is something that upset you teach yourself how to control your anger that's a common problems people have daily they get angry at som simple stuff and specially on parents Remember when you get angry your letting the Shaitan in you and your welcoming him in your heart Or listening to him Don't become someone who gets angry and if you have paitence towards anyone or forgive them Then imagine the reward you will get the hereafter it might become the only deed that will safe you from Allah punishment ***When you hear any poor people asking for money and you don't have any just make dua for them or help anyone you can As Allah said in the Qur'an in Surah (وضحي ) (So as for the orphan, do not oppress [him]) (And as for the petitioner, do not repel [him]) And look at this beautiful hadith ومن حديث ابن عمر أن رسول الله - صلى الله عليه وسلم - قال : " إن اليتيم إذا بكى اهتز لبكائه عرش الرحمن ، فيقول الله تعالى لملائكته : يا ملائكتي ، من ذا الذي أبكى هذا اليتيم الذي غيبت أباه في التراب ، فتقول الملائكة ربنا أنت أعلم ، فيقول الله تعالى لملائكته : يا ملائكتي ، اشهدوا أن من أسكته وأرضاه ؟ أن أرضيه يوم القيامة "

the three kinds of rocks mentioned in the metaphor of rocks are 1. the ones that are already bursting with Eeman and even a gentle tap brings forth a stream 2. the ones that need some work before water comes out of them 3. The ones that don't bring forth water, but still fall for the fear of Allah These three hearts/rocks are the ones that have hope. The rest need to work on themselves until they reach at least the lowest of the three stages.

For me it was the second kind of heart. And SubhanAllah it was the recitation of Surah Al-Haqqah, the very same Surah that Brother Noman Ali Khan mentioned Hazrat Omer Bin Khataab (RA) heard from RasoolAllah (SAW).

Ive read these verses so many times but I never knew what was behind them. I learned a lot from this JazakAllah.

a genuine question, inshallah all of us can have Imaan Ameen. But if a person dies without Imaan but follows the 5 commandments can he enter Jannah? he believes in the kalima but doesn't have Imaan (so i assume its the 3rd type)

I don't understand the third kind of heart. "There are some of them that fall down for fear of Allah". If a men has fear of Allah, he is muslim, he is a good muslim because of fear of Allah. How can we say that he does not have Iyman? What does it mean "Islam without Iyman"? I cannot imagine Islam without Iyman. If there is not Iyman, there is no Islam too.
