Thanks again Mitch! I use this video every time I tear down my gun for a full cleaning. It's a great detailed explanation, and easy to pause and back up for the tiny tricky parts.
Honestly to anyone watching this take the trigger bar out and polish it. Sides and back where it rides the sear. That’s really all you need to do and your trigger will improve greatly
OMG . . that was interesting. This is not anything like a 1911 .. and would seriously confuse the intellectual skills of Glock owners. When I purchased this little gun ... I figured a trigger upgrade would be easy, but no .. such complexity by design defies logic .. but it is what it is .. and I like the gun .. it will be quite awhile before I take it down to the springs and shims .. you've saved me from trying it until I need to do it. Great video. Good instructions.
anything with more than 12 parts confuses a glock owner. Sorry not sorry, Glocks are the grease gun of modern pistols. If this guy wants to actually be confused takeapart a Laugo Alien.... That's a mind baker
On the slide catch re install, I used a 1/16th punch to grab the step down on the slider. Pushed it back and then held it still while I inserted the catch itself. It was very easy. Hope this helps.
That was impressive. Also, I thought you were going to utilize the opportunity to figure and address what might be causing the trigger to act the way it does and propose a recommendation the Smith & Wesson on how to make it better. Thanks for the video.
@@dennislyles9920 I polished the trigger bar where it contacts the lever (the lever is gold colored on mine) that presses the firing pin disconnect. Then polished the lever itself from where the trigger bar contacts it, up to and including the small bump on the lever. Remember, be gentle. I used 400 grit paper. All you want to do is polish the parts, not reshape them. On the trigger bar, concentrate on the top and bottom of the back.(the flat that faces you when it's installed. Easy does it or you may disable your pistol. Main thing to watch out for is the small spring that's under the safety mechanism, that little rascal will fly across the room.
per the last part of the captured spring and slide lock @14:00 , there's a small groove on the key that you can push back with a punch and slide the slide lock in. this is on the actual key. like the mag release on a p226. push it back and slide the slide lock in
Great video. I want to polish the top of the plunger safety bar hook as it’s very rough with machine marks and contributes to the hump/false reset feeling. Already seeing scarring in the soft white nylon plunger and want to remedy the situation before it gets really bad. No idea why they didn’t use a metal plunger like is done in several of my other Smiths.
I really wanted to see someone do this since I got one but now that I see it idk if I can un-see it because I'm very ocd and like to take my guns down all the way to clean them but idk now haha
I used the upper surface of that plunger coming from the opposite side to press it in for re-inserting the right side release lever. Seemed much easier.
Thank you for the great job on the CSX's videos!! I am very close to buying one but have 1 question. Do you have a version with the assembly of the frame slowed down? With the number of small springs and parts that appear to be a bit tricky to get back in and properly retained, it would be very, very helpful. Thank you for your help and consideration with my request. Keep up the good work and have a great day!!
Theres not a video like that on this channel. The channel also no longer has the firearm used in the video. I’m sorry to disappoint, the only suggestion I have is the pause button. Please feel free to email with any questions: hangfiretv2020@gmail.com
Awesome post! Just bought this handgun. Normal use at range, what level of disassembly to clean the CSX do you suggest? I currently EDC G26 gen 5 and have been for a few years. I can take about all the way or just to a level of normal cleaning. I usually disassemble to a point almost all components out on G26, after 4th or so run at the range. You may have a normal cleaning video, just found your channel of course subscribed and liked!
Normal cleaning: REMOVE ALL AMMO FROM THE BENCH. Remove slide, recoil spring and barrel. Clean, reassemble and function test. To use the term “field-strip” wouldn’t work with this gun as “field stripping” doesn’t require tools and this gun does. Have fun, shoot safe.
You mean between the bar and the sear? About how thick and what if a very thin washer was used. Any idea what that actually does to fix the false reset and does it compromise any of the safety features? Haven't received the gun yet but I will dive in when I do. Information is vital so if you would, please respond 😄. If you go to the Smith and Wesson semi- automatic pistol forum and search CSX false reset, there is a post where a guy cleared it up by polishing some internal parts. It is not easy to follow if someone hasn't been into the gun, but it should be much clearer if the gun is apart and that section is read. If I do get it down to individual parts, I will polish anything that touches or rubs.
The slot in which this bar sits is cut too wide and it wobbles, I made a shim out of a bottle cap. And smoothed up 3 other parts to smooth it the whole trigger feel.
Out of general curiosity, does the safety block the hammer directly in any way, or does it only prevent the trigger from being pulled or the sear from releasing?
This raises a question that I feel I need to answer from a personal perspective. The meat of your question: This video showcases the components and where they sit inside the mechanism. You could figure it out just by seeing it disassembled. Thats as far as I can really go in a youtube thread. The question I need to address is "should" we alter or remove "Safety Features". As a concealed carry gun, I don't believe it should be altered. If it's used defensively; firearms with safety modifications create more of a liability in a courtroom, than if they were left alone. My opinion: If you don't like all aspects of a gun, do not carry it. Feel free to email directly hangfiretv2020@gmail.com
@@unclehangfire I love the fact that it's a double stack miniature 1911, I won't carry a striker fired pistol because of the trigger, but I love the 1911/2011 platform for the single stage trigger. With S&W putting a 'alright' backstrap safety on their EZ series, also a Browning design, I don't see why they would kill the best aspect of the base pistol. I was only attempting to pick your brain, I'd love to see S&W fix this on their own, but I've been hounding Bill Wilson's channel to do a WC CSX in 30 Super carry, along with all the magic Mr. Wilson is known to sprinkle on his masterpieces. Thank you for replying with a thoughtful response and not just garbage.
@@xunheilvsnipezx3324 yes and the CSX is an excellent layout with a poor execution. The copy in this video has already been sold. I will be interested in a second gen, if S&W ever makes it.
Dude why would you assemble it in double time? RU-vid doesnt have the speed feature. We clicked on the video to learn how its dissasemble and assemble.
Please do video of the slide disassembly. Showing the drop safety removal. It seems the false trigger reset is caused by the drop safety. I was going to remove the drop safety and see if it made a difference but I don’t know how it comes apart.
