Good morning! The turtle was comfortable with Zander, that why he came out of his shell. He was a box turtle. But wow he was beautiful. Had a turtle for 8 years now. And every time my daughter goes by him or picks him up he comes out of his shell. By the way the vet told us that, not blowing smoke…. Glad to see all 7+ of you are ok , just collateral damage. Bobby if you made a covered patio in the back over the cement slab. you could keep water from getting into Bailey’s room. Or not. I’ve seen people use French drains to divert water to a different area. Isn’t there another hurricane behind Milton? Fun never ends. Glad y’all are ok and didn’t get too much damage. Which is worse. The preparation or the cleanup? They both suck.

Hello an hurricane left a lot of fixable mess . An that turtle is a Box turtle it's shell is funny shaped but he has pretty markings. Theyr all over the woods here in TN.❤

I hope you know that turtles and I believe tortoises can carry salmonella and it is highly recommended that you wash your hands and change your clothes after handling them. I know this was filmed days ago, but FYI. Sorry for all the damage, everything is so expensive to repair, and I'm guessing prices will go up again because of the demand.

Sad about the pool roof but hopefully it will be covered by the insurance or maybe it will be cheaper to change it yourself. Can't you put a tarp or net over the pool to avoid so many leaves and stuff? I'm glad nothing major happened to the house.

I’ve heard FL only has about 7-9 actual insurance companies that cover homeowners. Because of the high cost/expense from storms/hurricanes in that specific state. Then if you file a claim for damage from a hurricane the company can drop you. THAT defeats why people pay for homeowners insurance AND hurricane insurance. My brother in law is just going to repair the roof shingles that got damaged. They don’t want to risk being dropped by filing a claim & it’s something he can fix himself. Bunch of BS!!! Just like people being required to have flood insurance in flood zones. then unless the damage is severe they don’t cover shit. Learned that the hard way about 17 years ago. Hopefully you can get the pool area & house fixed & not get dropped by the insurance. Good luck!! Sister lives near Sarasota. Today is Sunday & they are not expected to have power until Thursday. I said …welcome to retirement & living in FL. 😂. Ohio doesn’t seem so bad now does it.

Just FYI...French drains and solid pipe down spout system... called dual system it takes all the water to the road. I just had it installed right before hurricane not on purpose but because water was pudlling around gutter down spouts and sitting at foundation. Did a few months research then decided just in time. It can be a tad expensive depending on how much has to be done anywhere from 5 grand to about 20 grand. Average about 10. I know it is expensive but worth it reguarding foundation and house plus seeing all the bulk water coming out at street instead of house and yard. Just be careful what products they use. You want quality and warranty, not home depot or someone who doesn't know what they are doing. Long lasting not just a year or less. Would call a foundation specialist in yard drainage. Can look up French drain man online out of Michigan and learn about systems watching video's. Gate city fountain you tube is great too. I never thought I'd have to understand water drainage. I too live in Florida Clearwater area. I live 59 feet above sea level no evacuation. But still needed help getting water away from home. Get a few estimates if you choose to look into it. You could probably do it yourself, but it was a lot of work here a 3 to 5 man crew here for 5 days. We have huge trees and roots they had to get through. The French drain man teaches diy ers how to do a system. I'm going back to watching your video. Best wishes and blessings to you and yours.

Turtles carry many many diseases! Make sure the kids wash their hands with antibacterial soap with a brush and sanitize your bathtub! I’d hate to have the kids get sick from handling it!
