Great technique and tips man. Handling it like a pro. How often do you plan on changing the oil? Supposedly these motors don't ever need an oil change, just monitoring of levels. You're running yours a lot longer and harder than I am mine, so it may vary from user to user. Great video bud!

Thank you! Yeah, I put that little mower and myself through a workout, especially when it's growing. I change all my mowers about once a year. Love that little Honda engine, they can't be beat.

My Kensington has a Briggs so I ordered from your link there. It’s not a 3/8. It’s a 10mm. So I have a 3/8 if anyone wants to buy one. Lol

Oops, sorry to hear that. I wonder if Briggs changed to 10mm since they were made for English/European mowers. My local shop in the states is 3/8”. 🤔 Thanks for sharing.

I took your tip and used the same product to condition my belts and it turned into a disaster. It made the belts so tacky and grippy that when the mower was idling the belts were grabbing the motor pull and engaging the reel, I tried several adjustments of the cable tension and could not get it to stop. I eventually painstakingly cleaned the belts and pully's and was able to get it to mostly recover back to normal but I'm still getting a very slow reel turn when the reel should not be engaged.

Oh wow! I’ve used the belt conditioner for years with no problems. Have you contacted the manufacturer? Perhaps you got a bad can of it?

Super video. Especially that I got my 20 h around the same time as yours and this is more then helpfull. Just wondering if you do greasing on the kensington as well if there is any. Was thinking about the drive drums if they need any maintenance? Thanks and again " top notch "

Awesome! Thank you! I occasionally spray the joints with some silicone spray or Fluid Film. I wish the drum was stainless steel. Wonder how hard it would be to paint my drum.

@@SunnyBermuda I don't think painting the drums are a problem, but the paint won't stay. To much friction. Anyway, looking forward to your next video, maybe showing how you spray the drums, either with paint or the joints with fluid film 😉

Have you ever tried one of the hand help pumps to pull the oil out? They work good and keeps everything clean.

Hey Sunny thank you for this video, by far the best one I've seen on this engine, i have a question, i did the oil change on the cali trimmer, same engine, and now the mower won't start, it was done correctly, do you have any ideas what the problem could be?

Thank you! 👍 May not have enough oil in it. Make sure it’s level and the oil comes up to the threads. Some models have a low oil shutoff sensor.

@@SunnyBermuda yes!! That what it was, what is weird is that front hole was full and oil was coming out, but only took 12oz, then i poured the remaining 8oz from the back hole, imo that's a poor design, because it shouldn't come out until you put the 20oz

Hi Sunny, what type of grease do you use in the zerk fittings?

I get Lucas Oil 14 oz. Red 'N' Tacky Grease from Home Depot. Only $5.48 and works great. One tube has lasted 2 years on servicing my aerator and spreader.

Correct, on the Kensington there are no grease fittings.

@SunnyBermuda yeah, knew about no zeros, but was wondering what else you were greasing. I taken mine apart a few times for maintenance amd meter found anything I needed to grease. You still on TLF? I think I've been on twice in the last 5 months or so. Just not the same. Hope you're well, man.

@@Jay-Go I sold my Kensington this last Fall. I would hit spinning parts with Fluid Film and shoot some down the cables. Pretty much it. I may get on TLF twice a year, too. Doing great and excited to use my C24 all season with my new cartridge collection.

Mr sunny do you know how to fix the turtle /rabbit function ? The line doesn’t seem to work and I have to adjust the engine manually!

Hi, Victor, sounds like your cable may be broken or became unlatched. My Kensington Tips video shows how to fix or repair it.

@@SunnyBermuda yea the piece broke ! Im going to request a replacement throttle housing! that explains why I can only put it to the turtle setting but not to the rabbit!

Yes, it’s perfectly safe. The cable is just a convenience so you don’t have to bend over and adjust the engine each time.
