Been to Thailand 3 times, with 3 stays in Phuket, 2 in Bangkok and 2 in Khao Lak....Really hanging to get back to Thailand with Koh Samui as a priority. Been watching travel vloggers every weekend for the last 18months or since Co-vid locked us all down. You guys are as good as any and give us plenty of information on the current state of affairs in Koh Samui, where things might be very different to how they once were from a tourist's perspective. Not many youtubers talk about moving to Koh Samui so this was super super helpful. Especially I wasn't sure if we can get online shopping delivered. Really helpful video since we are thinking of moving next year!
Thanks for your great informative video. I'd like to live in Chaing Mai for the majority of the year and then escape the smokey season from Jan to March - 3 months. Heading to Koh Samui might be the go. I have been their twice and stayed in Bohput for a week only.

Thank you... (🙏) So much of this was spot-on for the information I have been seeking. Previously stayed in Maenam; hope to return as a regular, long-stay. So many essential things like health insurance and banking are often hard to find in so many of the "tourist" blogs -- or even many "ex-pat" blogs. I'm not a "party" seeker -- and hope to be more than a tourist. I just seek a simple life that I don't need a vacation from.

I have stayed in Bophut for a few times now. At 3:06, to the left is the Smile House restaurant and I love staying at that particular resort because of its rustic charm. The Friday walking street is really fantastic. I will usually bring extra cash with me just in case I need to buy a lot of stuff and sometimes things that I might not even need haha. Great video as usual and Gong Hei Fatt Choi to you both.
Gong Hei Fat Choi to you too! We also miss the hustle and bustle of the Friday Walking Street. Bophut isn't as busy at night now but people still love going there for coffee and brunch :) There's a new cafe that's all the buzz - Fisherman's House X Sasatorn Coffee. Should add it to your list for next time!

Amazing break down, we saw you on Paddy's channel. We call those fish Rock Cod in Australia. I really miss going fishing like I did in Australia, but hopefully will be able to it here in Kampot soon. We also have a RU-vid channel called For Riel and donate will our earnings to Charities in Cambodia. We are now in a curfew and many businesses have closed also so we tip everyone.

Welcome to the fam, Peter! We love it here but we do agree some things are more expensive. With the current situation, many local businesses have had to reduce their prices so it is more affordable now.

A useful tip from someone who’s been there many times, all the beers are great but personally I avoid Chang because it gives you the most horrific hangover

Not usually a problem to open a bank account with just a tourist visa. Or even a. Entry exemption stamp. I've done it several times. If the branch you walk into says no .. visit another one.

Thanks Waylin! We currently pay 15,000 Baht/month for our 2 bedroom villa. We haven't been able to do our cost of living video yet as we've been moving around. It's more accurate to track our costs during a month that we're in Samui full time. We will get to it eventually!
