Blood pressure is a very basic vital sign. Should always be checked. Same with a blood glucose. Hurts, but it's a "vital sign". Great exam, though. You are very thorough.
While I was taught that BP is not required for a 7 year old pediatric patient without risk factors (i.e. BMI, fam. hx, etc.) it is increasingly recommended to collect this data on all patients. Practitioners are often severely limited by time constraints and do not collect it, but by all means collect it, especially if your instructor or agency policy require it!
@@thesaffronnurse6422Often due to such negligence, many grow up with heart problems. Like every child, my brother was often examined by doctors. But all the doctors didn’t want to measure his blood pressure, saying that he had no risk factors and there was no need to do it. As a result, at the age of 19, when he underwent an examination, it turned out that all his life, including childhood, his blood pressure was constantly above 160, but when this was discovered, it was already too late.
@@truth6323 no way, it looks like a beer gut! definitely not "healthy" - check his posture & his gut pulls his spine forward like it was a gravity well. It's weird, I've never seen a skinny kid with a bloated looking beLLy like that. I bet a chiropractor could readjust with a quickness and a crack or two ✌️
