In this video #5 of the playlist, I wrap things up by installing the transducer to the Yakattack Switchblade transducer arm and mounting to Cellblok. Then I mount the Humminbird fish finder to the Cellblok. This is part of my Sun Dolphin kayak upgrade playlist. Hope this has been helpful. Once the weather breaks here in Western NY I will get out on the water and let everyone know what worked/what I would do differently. Good luck out there!! If this does help or want to see more kayak projects, please like, sub and share!! Thank you!!

Those are predrilled holes on the inside. You should have lined them up with yours

Older video, but the silver screw goes on the bottom, with the transducer and the black one is on the swing arm. There’s a spot the nut fits in, one’s bigger than the other

Your lower blade part of the arm looks backwards. Think of a airplane wing the thin part is the trailing edge.

additionally, the cable should run along the thick side of the lower blade...it ends up nestling in really well and the cable ties tuck away cleanly.

Im mounting my graph on my kayak this weekend. I have side imaging. How far below the kayak should my transducer be in order for my side imaging to work properly? Enjoy the videos. I watched your video to help my assemble my Cellblock. Thanks!!!

Thank you for watching, happy to help!! So, my transducer sits 10 inches into the water off the side of my kayak. Now my unit does not have side imaging. I did some homework and called Humminbird 1-800-653-0199, they said there is no min depth they (transducer) have to be in the water just has to be fully submerged. They do note, in their manuals keep transducer at least 15 inches away from any propellers. Hope this helps, tight lines!!

Hello. I’ve enjoyed watching your videos on this series. I’m in the process of installing a switchblade as well. I was wondering have you adjusted the length of your arm yet? I have mine installed on the trac on the side of my yak and fully extended it puts the transducer at least 12 inches below the bottom of the boat. I’m using a Helix 7 with side imaging but everything I see about how far to place your transducer it is around 3/8 below the hull. I haven’t gotten it in the water yet but it seems like it will create a lot of unnecessary drag. Western NY native as well grew up about an hour south of Rochester and live in Indiana now.

Have you had results differ on the screen in regards to what direction the transducer is facing? I just put a switchblade on my bonafide and just reaching out to see if having it forward facing or backwards facing makes any difference. Btw Im down in nashville tn and moved from depew ny sir so nice to see some buffalo ny representing in the kayak fishing community!

Awesome man the 716 is full good folks love it!! Great question and 1st off by no means am I an expert. According to humminbird if the pointed end faced forward it helps create less “disturbance” giving better feedback back to the unit. In theory as long as pointed down it will work. Now the switchblade can easily rotate on the water. As tests I have done both ways (tapered end forward and backwards) and haven’t noticed a difference. I also used my deeper sonar to compare the contours and depth to see if both were close in readings and they were. Now... think where it gets goofy is if side imaging is option on your unit then I believe the direction does matter. This will be a cool video idea to do this summer is I’ll face the transducer both ways and compare it real time with the deeper sonar and show the results.

@@Channelofdk thanks for the reply. I got a new hook2 7” that I’m waiting on a Dakota lithium to try for the first time to see the difference in position. I haven’t heard a definitive “good” position yet but what you described makes the most sense which is how I got it set up now. Keep safe up there brother!

Yeah these products are the real deal ( I get paid 0 for saying that). After a year of trying YakAttack stuff I love em. Saw some homemade versions but I didn't care how they looked an functioned. I fish a small private lake outside of Scranton, called Elk Lake. Got family there and try to fish there every summer.

@@Channelofdk Grew up fishing on Wallenpaupack. Now I mainly fish Nockamixon. We have a camper 5 miles from there. Tough lake, but can't wait to put the kayak on there. Waiting on delivery.
