After watching your videos I have ventured into the futures market and Ninjatrader 8. - Being a newbie there are a couple of things - @13:26 when you bring up Chart Trader the user has to make sure to check the Account dropdown menu to make sure there is an account listed and it is the correct one they want to use. When I first went to "live" trading after using the demo account I ran into this problem - even though my control screen showed I was connected to both the live account and sim account it didn't propagate either into the account dropdown menu in Chart Trader. @13:43 you enter the buy order from the menu - @14:28 you enter the stop loss - how to you enter your profit target from this menu ?

Same here. Seems to have much the same layout and functionality but with less settlings. Iron Beam has Mac client software but so far seems the same as their web. Still checking it out though
Man, very good video but having a order bringing automatic stop and take profit, its no a OCO order. OCO is One Cancel Other order. For example in a possible break out you can have 2 order 1 for Buy and 1 for sell, when one of those get fill the other order is canceled

if you trade the ES or NQ i will recommend you to start around late february you wll get wiped out because of the low volumen before that date. just a recommendation.

Is there a part talking about how to set up auto exit in case you lose your entire initial margin? I heard there was something like that in ninja trader and didn't know how to set it up
In stock trading, the stop loss orders only work from 9:30am to 4pm. Since futures contract trading is open for almost 24 hours a day, are there any specific times when the stop-loss orders will work?
Ninjatrader software is not users friendly platforms. i have installed the software months ago, i'm still strugelling to use this software. in my version of the software i have only the posibility to fund mu account. im still lost
I have a problem setting up my account in ninjatrader, in connection tab I don't have the option to add new account but playback stimulation, how do think that's possible

At the start of video, im not seeing any of that at all when i start ninjatrader.. lol... so lost, i click connection and there is no configure button at all, all i see is Live, playback and Simulation.
Is there a script available that will allow you to highlight or shade the extended futures trading hours so that they are visually different from the day trading session?

Update: I ended up subscribing to the most basic CME 4$ data plan which is for the basic level 1 depth data. All you need unless ur into reading the tape and all that extra level 2 stuff
Hello Relay, I'm currently with Interactive Broker. There, a maintenance margin of about €40,000 is needed to trade the ES. This has to do with the German BaFin. BaFin has obliged brokers for German retail traders to implement significantly higher margin requirements and to abolish the obligation to make additional margin calls. I know the margin requirement at Ninja Trader is $500 for the ES. But do you happen to know how high the margin requirement is for the German market at Ninja Trader?
Hello Riley! I have just downloaded ninja trader and got my 12$ plan and account funded. My problem is that when i press connections, i don't see configure. I only see playback ,live ,and simulation. Please help and i love the vids!
Does anyone know any phone number for NT? What do you do if you have a problem like a power outage or a problem with your platform or your account? Their so called virtual assistant is basically useless in my experience.
Riley why is my live screen different from simulation. my simulation screen looks like yours but my live screen looks like a mishmash of screens. unfortunately i cannot paste see. i dont see any chat or help screen
My ninja trader 8 looks completely different from what you have and I do not have the ability to do a lot of the things you are doing. Do you know why that would be?
That's probably too small. Start with $2,000 and do 1-2% trades. This is how it's done. Backtest and journal everything. Also, there are multiple fees to play this game.
How can you possibly trade using a company that has no phone number you can call? What do you do when you have a live trade and there is a power failure since it is not possible to call a trade desk with this company? I have yet to find a phone number anywhere on their website. If anyone reading this knows any phone numbers for NT please share.
That "Configure Connections" doesn't exist on mine. Did they change that within the last 6 months? In fact, there are only 3 options under Connections. Live, Playback, Sim. Nothing else. Also - When Editing Account, the list only includes the 1st 4 options. Nothing after Lot Size. So it just Automatically puts 50k in when I only want 1k. Ugh - Just my luck when following a tutorial the options discussed don't exist on my side. lol
