Very nice. Thank you for sharing. I do a bit of binding repair on my own library, and I started doing my own work because I thought "Those bookbinders charge way too much money, I'll just do it myself." Then I started doing it myself, and found out how involved it is, and how much expertise is required to do the seemingly simplest things. What you guys do is invaluable, and its too bad its not an art that is better appreciated.
+Jordan Sheppherd yeah, that really is a shame. Modern books are all built with nothing but synthetic glue, ready to fall apart with age and be replaced. Technology and consumer culture has turned many things in our society into disposable objects for mass production. books, furniture, even houses. Very sad to think about what kind of plastic world we will be living in 50 years from now.
@@fakiirification modern books are made in the possibly worst way, it is a shame that modern technologies have not made the book printing.binding better.

I need to know how to deal with sections that have frayed outer pages. As the glue comes away, it distresses the outer page of each section, and the stitches start to act like cheese wire, and the holes enlarge! If I stabilise every one with tissue before resewing, the bible is going to double in thickness! I did notice in your video, some damaged pages just being sewn back together, and wondered whether the glue will cover this problem? I'm a novice bookbinder. It's one thing sewing thick stock and making a sketch book, quite else to work on recovering a bible! Thank you
