Great build bud... I did one back in the nineties.. In South Afroica we had the Mk1 in production till 2010. The fenders and bumpers were different, making the car look a bit more modern. I did the conversion to modern spec. I did as you did here. Complete stripdown. Car went on to be developed to a 2.0 litre 8 valve with it's injection.. K-Jet. Did a 14.7 1/4 mile..
Pretty great job guys from el gato customs, the car looks so good, oem plus style, a little bit of details and some nice touches like carbon fiber recovers, I respect that, Congrats and ¡¡Saludos desde Mexico!!
Awesome work, love your Golf! :) Gonna give my 76 MKI Golf LS the same white GTI look, but with an MKIII GTI engine and track spec setup all over... ;)

There are 2 Legends in the GTi : The VW Golf GTi mk1 like this of course and until the mk2 phase 1 (I had one, afte rit is not by far a GTi but just a GT car made for highways and family) and the PEUGEOT 205 GTi 1.6L and 1.9L 130cv (I was one 1.9L 130hp) I'am a lucky guy because I was the owner of 2 on 4 of GTi Legends!! ^_^
