A project I've been working on for about two years has come to an end. Enjoy the aftermovie! P.s. made a little mistake concerning the buildyear. It's from 1989.
That's an amazing restoration my friend! I absolutely love the final outcome. Lots of hard work but beautiful results. Congratulations! I hope you are very proud of what you have achieved there. Kind regards, Tim.
I have two degrees. I cannot change a tire on bike. I own them. Wish I could work on them. So cool to watch people do what seems like brain surgery to me. Awesome job.
Then you've got a bike for an other 30 years... 😜 Me too... I've got the red - white one. Everybody ask me if I sell it... I allways answer :"there's no reason"... 😜
Amazing job dude. Does the 89 have rear disk brakes on stock? Im currently working on an 87 xt600 and it has rear drum, hoping to upgrade to disk in the coming weeks. Great job once again!
Beautiful job! I'm from Argentina, and I had one of those in the mid-nineties. I traveled a good part of Patagonia with that bike. Amazing bike. Regards!
I'd kill to get hold of this bike, again. An icon amongst pretenders. I'm looking to buy a chill enduro bike, but they're are all gone, these days. I'm going to have to settle for a KTM 500 or something similar. I'd rather this, any day!!!
Hi, im searching the topcase for my Yamaha XT 600, from where do you buy that? I mean the black metal for put topcase or otherthings 7:20 , in my XT i dont have that, i only have a bag and i want that for my topcase, thank you.
Prachtig resultaat, Sten.
Looks pretty awesome! My Dad got one like this too but it's standing still in my grandma's shed. So I have 2 years to do the Restoration until I am allowed to drive it. I also like yours with Super Moto Tires. Well done!
I think the intake system isn‘t completely leak proof because the engine is coming back to idle rpm veery slowly which is a typical sign of pulling false air. P.S. Great job you did there, the time and effort invested definetly paid off ^^
@@sten6537 you have to open up the tube, that comes out of the second carb ! That could be the issue. In the video you closed it with an bolt and then the membrane can't work properly.
@@twostroke4423 i will try that! The thing is, the former owner had it this way and everything run fine.. and there is no manual or anything saying what I should do with it. Special filter or..?
i was going to write the same, but before i read comments and here i am. Yeahn thats true, conect it in the corect way and u'll see the change. Use gas filter before carbs and gas tank to be sure for a clean gas into ur carbs and engine.
Thats a very nice bike. I have the same 1989 bike in this colour to. I am going to repaint the tank and side fairings. But i dont have the colourecodes. Which one did you use?
I don't know why but I 🤔 thought the blue 🔵 xt600's were newer so I have the 1989 red and white xt600 man I love that bike so dependable pretty much bullet proof keep the oil and oil filter changed and she last many many many years I mean my bike is to years younger than yours so this is 2023 and they still kicking some ace 😂lol the old thumpers mine has a super trap man sounds so nice
@@charleslauderdale3102 unfortunatly not, it's already sold. But I do have another restoration video on my account. Same model, just not as detailed restored as this one.
amazing work man!! im corious how did you restore the plastic peaces? scratched ? how? and then? would be amazing if u would describe thst. I have my yamaha 2kf white and red, can wait to make her shine again!!
An Absolute Legend in Greece. Xt 600 87 to 89 and xt550 82, 83. Had a 550 with installed front disc for 13 years. Living in Athens for 6 months and on an island the rest it was perfect.
Awesome video! I got a 86' xt 600, was wondering when you ultrasonic cleaned the carb, did you use a rebuild kit? I've been having trouble finding a good one, cheers!
Hi, I used 2 different rebuild kits. One for the bottem part and one for the top part. You can order them at japparts.nl or ebay.com or cmsnl.nl or kedo.de or N1motor.nl :) good luck
Don´t know what part of the world your´e in Plastics is difficult to find new, try Ebay and maybe Kedo got something. Or else you have to do like Sten did - wet sand it for hours! Other parts is relatively easy to find, Cmsnl is my candystore when it comes to older bikes.
I wish i had this know how to rebuild mine even though its still in a good shape. Just want to make sure nothing breaks down and make it look good because you can see rust on some parts 😅
