I couldn’t make up my mind between the Ollin or MagView for a long time. Both options have their pros and cons. For me, the Ollin con is it’s phone case. I have an Otter protective case and the last thing I want to do is swap cases all the time. Yes, you can shut your eyes and align the Ollin to your spotting scope, but I’ll sacrifice another second aligning the Magview. I ordered the MagView, and will still enjoy the compact design as the Ollin digiscope. I will also be able to use my Otter case with the additional MagView metal plate. The con, it may take a couple seconds longer for alignment. Even that is better than the X,Y, and Z adjustable digiscopes, or worse. Now, those can be “painful”. Also, my phone is two years old. Within the next year or two, I’ll replace it. Since the Ollin digiscope has phone specific cases I will have to buy another Ollin case. At today’s price, that would be an additional $39 plus tax. Who knows, the company may be out of business by then. Neither brand is cheap. Thanks for your review.

They advertise that the binocular adapter doesn’t interfere with normal use (looking with your eyes and not your phone). Is that the case with the spotting scope adapter as well? Can you still look through the eye piece OK with the adapter still on?

Yes. You just have to open it up.
