The Universal Studios Hollywood theme park in Universal City, California, features its premier attraction, the Studio Tour, located near Los Angeles. This tour allows visitors to explore a live film studio, showcasing various sets across the Universal Studios Lot. Guests experience the behind-the-scenes magic of Universal Pictures by boarding multi-car trams for a journey that spans approximately 60 - 70 minutes. An in-person Studio Guide, positioned at the front of the tram and facing the passengers, leads the tour with support from pre-recorded videos. The tour traverses the Front Lot, Backlot, and various thematic attractions, highlighting iconic movie sets and properties en route.
Initially launched in 1915 with simple bleacher seating and an entry fee of 25 cents, the Studio Tour evolved significantly over the years. In 1964, the introduction of pink and white Glamor Trams marked a new era, making the tram tour the primary method for guests to view the park's attractions, starting from the Front Lot Commissary. The evolution continued with the Upper Lot (Entertainment Center) inauguration in 1965.
Technological advancements have been a hallmark of the tour's evolution. CD players in 1989 and later DVD players and LCD screens in 2000 enhanced the experience by allowing guides to showcase scenes from films shot on-site. High-definition screens were added in 2009, and in 2011, Jimmy Fallon enhanced the narrative experience with video hosting and a signature song. The fleet's modernization continued with the introduction of electric trams in 2022.
Visitors on the tour can see sets from notable Universal movies like "Psycho" and "Back to the Future," as well as from Walt Disney Studios' productions. It also features versatile sets like Wisteria Lane from ABC's "Desperate Housewives" and an Old West town. Particular segments, including encounters with King Kong and simulated natural disasters, enrich the tour experience, alongside visits to iconic sets like the Bates Motel from "Psycho" and the high-octane Fast & Furious: Supercharged attraction. The Studio Tour has remained a significant attraction, reflecting the evolving landscape of Universal Studios Hollywood and the broader film industry.

Was the famous studio tour was the first ride at universal studios Hollywood in July 15th 1964 and was the only thing to do at the park?

At the time, you are correct. Then other staged events started to be added.

Oh man, I miss hearing K-USH! In my mind, it's still on air, even with the occasional updates here and there. I even pretend the songs that currently play at StarWay (as well as the Palace Café) are playing on a K-USH radio show.

It also played at the front gate (ticket booths) too.

What happened to the flash flood part?

It appears that the tram driver didn’t activate the area, so it didn’t trigger. They were trying to get another vehicle to do it but it doesn’t work that way. You have to be clear of the area (tram driver triggers it before it goes into the area) for it to start. It was a shame, but we got you covered: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-2yoEDCnLoIA.htmlsi=SWD3N_5FQ-ZnrWLc

The tour changes hourly. You never know what you’ll see on the tour. It’s a working production studio.

Not a fan of you watermarking the entire video with a burned in logo.

Television networks have been doing this for over 20+ years. 🥹

@@cowmissing sure, but… #1 you are not a television network, #2 I don’t like it when television networks do it either, and #3 this isn’t even your own content.

#1 All media platforms do this. #2 Sometimes in life we have to deal with things we do not like. #3 We own this entire video. How do you know this isn't our video? LOL!!!

@@cowmissing#1 & #2… no one is making you do this. You’re clearly afraid someone is going to take your video and re-upload it somewhere else. #3 your entire channel is made of other companys’ content. You expect me to believe that this one video is something that you recorded yourself? I mean if so I apologize, but it doesn’t seem like the norm for you. By the way, I absolutely love everything you post on this channel, that’s why I’m disappointed by you including a burnt-in watermark in this. Don’t take it the wrong way.

We created all the content ourselves and did not repurpose videos from others for our channel. Historically, we have utilized official park materials for historical documentation and to serve as a digital archive. We have devoted countless hours, days, and even years to curating this content, enhancing it for quality in aspect ratio, video clarity, color correction, and sound levels. Additionally, we have added closed captions to most of our videos-something they initially lacked-in up to 40 different languages, allowing viewers worldwide to understand the spoken content. Our RU-vid channel and contributions to other platforms are sources of immense pride. Since June 2023, we've started to focus on creating original content, moving away from using official park footage. We aim to offer a platform where anyone can revisit their theme park experiences. We film all our content in 4K resolution, and indeed, there have been attempts (some successful) to repurpose our work without credit. We don't receive any financial compensation for the content we create; our drive is purely our love for the parks. Given this context, it naturally raises the question: why wouldn't we add watermarks to our videos?
