Yes, using a pizza stone inside the camper oven really does make it cook more efficiently. Plus, Kellie can use the stone for her delicious pizzas, too.
There's probably a way you can utilize the black tank to expand your gray tank by equalizing the 2 tanks. Very nice rig BTW....congratulations!!! I'm very happy for you both!
GOOD IDEA X2 On many RV's they add an extra dump slide valve, open BOTH Gray and Black valves, that way the Black and Gray can store Gray water as they're not using their black tank for waste, see my post above. John T
So glad I didn’t have to wait until Thursday to see it!! Super nice and just think how much less time you’ll use for set up and take down! Tickled pink for ya’ll!!! Anxious to see your first overnight..
Congrats on your new rig/home! I’m sure you’re going to really enjoy it! I’ve been camping a long time, am in my mid 60’s now, and tow an RV. Might I suggest a small electric heater to use when connected to shore power? I know you boondock camp a lot, but when a power pedestal is available, why burn your propane when you’ve paid for hookups in a campground? I’m looking forward to your next videos as you get to know your new home!
@@LadywolfT I only camp and go canoeing and fishing where I can plug in my electric heater or I go camping in warmer weather where I do not need to plug in the heater.
We lived in a truck camper for over a year. It was even smaller than yours. You might want to check out our truck camper play list. We have a few ways to give even more storage. Congratulations on your new camper! We love your channel!
You need to check your manual about using the gas heat when it's below 38deg. We had a smooth side camper and the walls would sweat with gas heat when it was around freezing outside. The sides went wavy and started de-laminating. After we looked it told us not to do it in the manual.
Awww, one of the best parts of having the RV is being able to pull over and use your own bathroom on travel days. No more public toilets. It also keeps you from being able to use boondockers welcome and harvest host. You do you though. It looks awesome and congratulations !!!!!
I've been following y'alls channel for about a year. I'm soo excited and happy for y'all. I can't wait to see the video of your trial night. I'm glad you won't be freezing in unavoidable ice an wind storms. Y'all have been through alot that many people would've given up the lifestyle over just since I've been watching your channel and have taken 95% of it with grace and overcame every obstacle put in your way. Y'all definitely 100% deserve that nice truck and beautiful camper. Best wishes
Also, one more thought - I run my entire 19’ rig (except for a/c and microwave) off of a Bluetti EB70S. I plug our 30 amp cable into a 30 amp > 15 amp adapter (dogbone), then plug into the Bluetti and it charges my rig’s batteries and runs all my 110 v plugs. (I have a video about this setup on my channel. I was pretty shocked it worked). Using prime day sale I just upgraded the Bluetti to an Ecoflow delta 2, but setup will remain the same (I just likely can run the a/c and microwave now for short periods as it has a higher watt output).
A bacon tip, if you make it in the little oven it doesn’t stink it up as much and also much less mess! Baking sheet lined with parchment for 20 mins and it works like a charm! ❤
Soooooo excited for y’all!!! I think there are a lot of changes you will make in terms of storage. I think IKEA has alot of good options and I’ve seen alot of rv videos with tips on storage. But you have time!!! I think this is great for y’all and can’t wait to see it all decorated and cozy for y’all. You deserve it. I almost spit my wine out last week when you gave me the cliffhanger 🤣🤣🤣 but I get it!
Suggestion: The oven drawer possibly could hold your campfire Dutch oven along with other pots as you may find the standard propane oven might burn the bottom of muffins etc. due to flame heating element being so close to interior rack. Our rv ovens tend cause this issue. Another RU-vidr suggested placing a pizza stone inside on oven bottom to disperse the heating. I’ve not tried as yet but definitely makes sense. Also due to lack of adequate height within these ovens be prepared to butterfly, cut one’s 🦃 in half, prior to cooking as most turkeys sit tall.
We were able to purchase a small rectangular pizza stone that fits just right in our Suburban oven. I thought it did give us better results with the oven. The stone did crack after a few road trips but that does not affect its usefulness.
Don't forget to buy screens for the furnace vent and I think the there's another vent somewhere else you buy a screen for otherwise the Mud Bugs will build a house in there and screw it all up...
I have a very small kitchen space in our RV as well. I love to cook. I found these spice containers on amazon that work very well for me and they hold a surprising amount of spice. I have them held down for travel with museum tape. This is the ones I have. They are currently unavailable but when you pull them up you’ll see others that are about the same. KaryHome Spice Shaker Jars, Seasoning Shaker Box Condiment Set , Seasoning Storage Containers,Brown. I wish I had a large sink like that. I have a very small round sink. Congrats on your new camper!
So happy for you You know what you need because you slept in a tent before Lots of luxury now but at least you will be able to sleep at Walmart like all of us van dwellers 😅
You have an amazing amount of things in a small area. Might I suggest some sort of stacking shelves in your pantry cabinets. But you two have everything you need it seems to me. Have fun, and get out there and see things. Best of luck to you. Enjoy!
It looks like there is a lot of room in some of the cabinets for shelving which will increase your storage capacity! Very exciting and I LOVE the functionality of this rig! Excited to see more as you start to live in it! So fun and it's nice to have back some creature comforts without foresaking the nature experience! Love it!!
So excited for you. It looks like a very nice camper! I'm very impressed it has a 45 gal fresh water tank. That is a lot for a truck camper. Doing a nearby shakedown trip is very good advice. Can't wait to hear how it goes.
Congrats!! I am soooo happy for you guys! Kelly, you are the the one that gave me confidence to cook with my dutch oven 😮 you gotta find room for it 😅 looking forward to the maiden voyage 😊😊
Suggestion: Y’all might want to bring along the Mr Buddy heater just in case the main heater malfunctions or doesn’t keep the unit toasty warm throughout the colder winter months. 🥶
For ur intake and exhausts.. u need screens to keep the buggies out.. mostly wasps like the fridge intake areas to make their nests!! They are really cheap on Amazon.. small round ones and the rectangle ones for fridge in n out etc
What a fantastic camper! There’s only one thing I can see an improvement on his in the bathroom your shower hose, do yourself a favor and get a flexible one, metal one is the best. That way it is super flexible and you’re not getting any toxic chemicals from that plastic hose when the hot water flows through it. Trust me I put one in immediately in our camper.
I’m laughing about not using the black tank. I am a former SUV camper. Back in May, I bought a class B with a full wet bath. I have yet to use the black tank.
LOL about putting everything from the bathroom on the floor.. our first trip out with the camper, a Coachmen Clipper, we looked to see what fell on the floor. 🤣 I know now what to put away or on the floor when it's time to tow!
you have plenty of room in that pantry for more shelves, might want to check into rolling shelves, to be able to pull them out and in! So excited for your new adventure
❤I love your new home, very nice. Seems like the space is very well thought out. You will make it work to how you like it, a place for everything. That must be a family trait, ha ha! 😂😂 Love you both! Have a great first time trip! ❤️❤️
This thing is awesome and a beast! So excited for you and it will be so much fun for you to continue to set up, organize and tweak to your satisfaction. Enjoy! Can’t wait to follow your new adventures.
Hey, Kelly, I know as long as ya'll have been camping and living on the road, you probably have tried all bathroom solutions, but when I was in a big rig, I found a female urinal worked great.
I am super thrilled and happy for you guys! This is the set up we decided to go with too. They are just super nice and plus, my husband and I have no building skills! Good Luck on your first trip out! Are you naming this beast? Much Love Blessed Be
I had one of those toilets and used it camping and it collapsed on me. I weight just about 132. be careful using it. the front leg is not that sturdy. love the new camper.
Congrats on the new set up!! You might want to think about a winch when its feasible. This rig isl a lot heavier than than your other rig. And you two travel down some rougher type roads.
It's hard to see the valve setup in the video, but it looks like you could use the black tank as more gray tank capacity, by leaving the gray tank valve open and backfilling the black tank. Otherwise, 25 gallons is a very small gray tank.
I agree the pantry second shelves are a necessity. I had someone install adjustable shelf brackets, two on each side for front and rear of cabinet, providing so much more storage space. Also did the same for where I store my dishes, bowls, cups, glasses, etc. I don’t know why this isn’t an automatic feature in all types of recreational vehicles. 🚌
If the black and gray tanks are on the same plane meaning one is not placed higher than the other you can install a valve on the end of the drain and open the black and gray valves that should connect the tanks together and both will be gray tanks. Kellie dad will know about the add on valve
Nice camper guys. We have owned 5. Just to let you know the oven also cooks hotter so you may need to adjust your temperature lower than normal u til you get the feel of it
Nice camper, so where are you guys going to store all your camping stuff like your canoes, chairs and loungers and weights? I assume you wont need your tents no more that would be extra storage to drag along , so now you guys can sleep in the camper..I just remember when you guys bought that first camper everything you guys stored in it seemed more like lot of the outdoor gear, so curious where that all will go? unless thats in your next video
IT’S ABOUT TIME!!! We have been IMPATIENTLY WAITING to see this thing. So happy for you guys and hope the adventures don’t stop, and Kelly can continue cooking up some delicious gourmet meals. The only thing we can see wrong with your set up is the Ford. Should have gotten a GMC HEAVY DUTY. 😂 Congratulations to you both.
In my experience, the camper ovens tend to burn things on the bottom before they are fully baked. I've found that adding a rectangle pizza stone right above the burner helps to even out the heat and not create the hotspots.
Our pizza stones in the oven always broke so we use a cast iron flat uh thing that is used for uh bacon and uh pancakes to dissipate the heat more evenly in our oven. Can u tell this isn’t my area of expertise? We take it out while driving so it doesn’t damage the inside of the stove. it does remarkably keep the burn on the center of everything controlled. We also cook with the rack up high. Cornbread, steaks finished in the oven Ruth cris style, fish, biscuits, really almost everything we can cook at home, we can cook in the camper oven. Hate to see folks not use theirs. Enjoy!
