Yeah you got it right for the most part, she is getting married but she is grieving the loss of her parents, in the second verse where she is smiling she is singing about how the house is full of guests horses and friends but her parents are not there anymore. So she came to the river to speak about her sadness. That was stellar imagine how incredible her performance was so that you got the gist of it without even knowing the language and let's not forget that she is just 14 years old here, what a voice...

"oh my dear river You flow yet not even quver" at the start of the song. the girl is an orphan and she laments that there is no one to bless her, there is nothing for her to rejoice "for or yard is full of mounts and our house is full of guests" (that came to wed her , unwanted ones, apparently ). the girl goes down to the river to seek counselling

Diana is making owl and forest animal sounds along with her song. Her dress is like a cobweb. It's a song about a young woman who is getting married (I think to someone she doesn't know) and has no family to support her, so she is sad at the end resigned to her fate. At first she is hopeful, but no one comes to support her so she becomes sad. A big song for a 14 year old.

Is an affectionnate diminutive for Reka ("River") like "Little river" but not in the sense of its size. Russians use this kind of diminutives a lot for people (first names, family ties), animals or familiar objects.

You are doing REALLY good with this interpretation! I am very impressed with your astute discernemtn about what Diana is emoting here, all while not understanding a word she's singing. Yes, I am sure other's explained that Rechenka means little River, and she's singing despairingly about her wedding coming that very day; she does not wish to marry the man chosen for her, and is contemplating suicide by floating down the River until it claims her body and soul. Very sad. She's proud of the many horses in the yard, gifts for her family in exchange for her body being given to a husband. She sings to her girlfriends about how she's unhappy and yet resigned to a life of unhappiness accepted to please others. It is truly tragic. I am watching more of your reason,s glad to have found you!
