I’d say Suo’s more of an antihero. He’s brutal, but he had a pretty good reason. Remember that nervous nails and cheap shot were the ones who shit on their KO’d gang member after Sakura and Sugishita dynamic entry’d his ass

The fighting style that the mangaka seems to draw inspiration from is a mixed martial arts that is a combination of Japanese Akido and Chinese Wing Chun. Akido is about using your opponents aggressiveness and putting them off balance using a variety of methods like grabs, holds, or shoving but kicks and punches aren't part of the martial art. While Wing Chun is similar to Akido but uses kicks and punches as part of it's style.

Basically each big team has an HQ, just so happens that Bofurin uses the school as HQ so they just stuck with it so new people start from 1st year so on just like school. The school pretty much seems to be abandoned already.

kinda manga spoilers for shishitoren discussion . . . . . . really interesting discussion of the group dynamics here. Togame is an interesting dude, really hard to read. I like how in this episode you see Choji interrupting what Togame was about to do and Togame also reigning Choji in when he wanted to fight Sugishita himself, a back and forth kind of relationship, neither letting the other freely do what he wants. what seems pretty accurate from the post reaction discussion is how the devotee of power motto of the gang no longer works properly with the current gang. as Sakura said, other than the leader and the 2nd in command, the other gang members just fight weaklings or push down on the weakest members instead of devoting themselves into fighting powerful guys. This is pretty different from what it used to be, so I do agree that Togame was somewhat disappointed in his own members there.
