Getting the girlfriend pregnant IS canon, I think. My Summer Car starts in 1995 when the player is 17 or 18 and his Dad leaves him the car as a birthday present to fix during a trip. My Winter Car will likely be based in 2013 or 2014 with the main character of My Summer Car leaving the new player a car and the cycle repeating itself. From what I have gathered, some of the characters in this game are actually based on stories about real people - including the drunk man who 86's himself and also I think at one point there was a storyline involving an airplane and the player's parents but I might be thinking of another game entirely

Winning the rally race can happen at any time after the Satsuma passes inspection. It doesn't have to be done at any specific time, but is considered an "end goal" and main purpose of the game. The girlfriend calling about being pregnant is technically the "actual ending" of the game because at that point it's assumed that you had done all or most of the "missions" (ones with Drunk Man, ones with Pig Man, ones for Teimo, Fleetari jobs and side jobs) and at least TRIED to compete in the rally. But you can trigger the wreck and the girlfriend "missions" at any time the girl and the driver of the yellow car are together at the same time. Him taunting the player at Teimo's is supposed to bait the player into attempting to street race him and his friend (they go around the outer ring of the map and eventually end up on the soccer pitch) - a lot of times this is when the crash that kills him occurs unless the player triggers it by leaving something in the road to cause the wreck OR if another AI vehicle causes it and the player just finds the wreck and her or her just lying there by chance

I think in that video you see what was planned distance at first but he accidentally completed the game too early.
