I have had this device for 18 months now. The doctor did a EGD with dilation 6 months later. Its painful eating and drinking. I have talked to him and pretty much told me this is all in my head. So I had my records sent to a different doctor. This doctor did some tests and come to find out the link is not around my esophagus but around my stomach. I was sent to another doctor that explained I was not a good candidate for this procedure as my esophagus is to short. So now I'm having surgery to lengthen my esophagus and remove the linx and part of my stomach. They will do a wrap but not a complete nissan only about half way around. Think before you have this done. If the first doctor would have listened to me.
what were your symptoms? these are mine. I am trying NOT to have any more surgery. From having an EDG I found out that I have a small Hiatal hernia. I have constant burning in my throat like acid breath., some belching, & sometimes I can hear my stomach gurgle. I occasionally have heartburn. I have to sometimes clear my throat. I don't have a constant cough though, I can eat & swallow fine & I don't have post nasal drip. I have tried ppi & they really dont work that well. I had surgery in Nov to remove a huge ovarian fibroid that was a 25 cm ovarian fibroid & thank goodness it is gone however, it left me with a loss of a kidney & I think this hernia because the mass was & I don't want any more surgery to fix this. I am going to my chiropractor to help with the hernia. Any advice would be grateful. laying on my stomach.
I had the LINX device and it helped for a year but then it stopped working as expected. Around that time I received a letter that said my LINX device had been recalled by the FDA. I ended up having it removed, my hiatus hernia repaired and a Nissen fundoplication performed.
So if it doesn't work, the surgeon get another bucket of money to correct what he messed up first time. That is almost a bonus scheme that the patient pays again.???????
Had this done a little over 2 years ago. Been in nothing but pain the past few months plus. Pain comes even if I'm not eating or drinking and hurts to be in almost any position. Been to emergency room 3 times and they can't figure anything out.
@@makeroftoys not him.. i also did linx surgery over 2 n half yrs ago. i never had any pain.. the only symptoms i have is sometimes its difficult to swallow food.. i guess everybody reacts differently? srry english is not my 1st language.
I've had the linx band for 2-3 years now but ended up passing out because of pressure in the chest, went to the emergency room by ambulance, and they can't figure anything out. But I know its spasms due to drinking ice cold water. The first time it happened. When I drank ice-cold water consistently so I think it might have affected me and caused the spasm. VERY PAINFUL.
Make sure have hcl with pepsin , so acid ph is good in stomach , also raw organic apple cider vinegar with the mother in is awesome 5ml with water , and organic aloe vera juice , and good probiotic , try that few months to year or so , but keep up at least acv / hcl with pepsin , see the difference and eat smaller meals but healthier food
after about 2 years im having more consistent dysphagia but its kind of minor, just some foods that are dry or oblong shape, but when it happens it hurts when it passes through. i did gain a lot of weight though so i dont know if that is causing the dysphagia. i read on the LINX website gaining weight more likely would cause the device to not work and give more reflux so... maybe i need a dilation. i dont know..
I've been reading, watching videos and following Facebook groups on lynx and fundoplication. I'm convinced these procedures will stop reflux but unfortunately you won't be the same you will have complications forever unless you're are in your early to mid 20's when you get it done that also not being a safe bet either. Currently I'm looking into the Tif procedure seems to be least damaging fix and may be just as effective.🤔
@@traceycatchpole9302 no, unfortunately I got a second opinion and found they found that I'd had a inlet patch in my upper esophageal area that was causing all my problems, which cannot be corrected by anyone one of those procedures.
I’d like more detail on what they have learned about erosion. Is this something they expect everyone to experience at some point in their lives after getting the linx. Is linx a simple explant? What are the risks of explant? When is the best time for explant, early stages like (6 months) or later stages (5 years).
@Paul Evans Wow that is good to hear. What are the tests done to know if you are a perfect candidate for LINX? On the Linx procedure, do they fix Hiatal Hernia and properly place the esophagus and stomach before they place the Linx? I am 35 years old now, been suffering from reflux since I was 15.

@@joshnosirname9924 unfortunately not good. its been 2 years & I am doing another EDG bravo test. I am 99% sure the surgery did not work & I am going to have to repeat the process over UGH thanks for asking.
You’re talking about these operations like it’s fixing a car and reversing modifications that don’t work but it’s living people and family members who you’re working on and making money off of. What a crappy attitude.
@@Wingnut7078 Hello. I just want to clarify, did you have a Lynx device placed into your LES? At what age? i am 35 now and been suffering from reflux since I was 15 yrs old. Please tell me, after Linx, could you eat whatever you want or youre not allowed to eat a big meal? Can we eat pork and beef meat and dairy products?
@Aymee petite TV I am 34 and have had it since 2017 and yes around my les, I eat whatever I want it helped tremendously only issue was I'm a fast eater and food gets hung so I had to learn to slow down and chew thoroughly. Light food like bread is harder to eat at first also it takes time to adjust but well worth it
I had a LINX operation more than a month now also Hiatal Hernia for 2 cm got closed with stiches....But I still can not sleep well and feel the acid comes up...Is that normal?
Please tell me .. did you ever suffered from bad breath before the LINX surgery because of hital hernia .. and did the LINX help to reduce the bad breath ???
