Bryan reacts to and talks about his thoughts on Superhero Jagganath - Official Music Video ORIGINAL VIDEO: • Diablo Swing Orchestra... Patreon: www.patreon.com/criticalreactions Twitter: critreactions
My favorite album is Pandora's Piñata, very interesting blend of genres there. It's worth mentioning that they changed the female singer for their latest album, which aded a new depth to their most recent songs. You should definitely check out their whole discography, you won't be disappointed.
This band is a LOT of fun. Every release has a different overall flavor that's fun to experience. I'm honestly so glad you loved this so much. I've tried to get other reaction channels to do their stuff before for the same reasons you loved it. Glad to see them get some love!
First time coming across your channel and I love seeing someone find Diablo Swing Orchestra for the first time, especially Superhero Jagganath. First time I heard it I was blown away. I consider it an honest to god masterpiece. I found them because of the almighty algorithm lol. At some point I discovered Igorrr and DSO popped up in recommended and I never looked back. If you've never listened to Igorrr as well, I'd recommend it, Cheval is a good short hard hitting one to start on for them. So glad you like DSO and loved this breakdown of this song. Makes me feel validated in my high opinion of them lol
Glad you liked them so much! I was very excited to see my name on the recommendation list lol. DSO started in like the early 2000s, but this song was from the latest album. Maybe work your way forward from the beginning to see how they changed. I think their latest two albums (of four) are their best but it's good to see their development. Voodoo Mon Amour, Justice for St Mary, or Exit Strategy for a Wrecking Ball are their top three I reckon. Either way, enjoy them!
One of my favorite bands right now. It's like listening to a Danny Elfman soundtrack, but with a nice metal tone. You have to check more of them out. The earlier incorporated opera as well.
so glad to see people catch up to this gorgeous band. theyre nothing short of breathtaking and it's one of the very few bands i just dont get tired to listen to. is there a change you do a reaction to their song Justice Of Saind Mary? another masterpiece
You get 4 albums to check before the release of the next one, planned for october, so you might manage combining binge listening and reacting! I think the first (Butcher's Ballroom) and third (Pandora's Pinata) ones are the best, and I'd recommend checking the songs Pink Noise Waltz and Exist Strategy for a Wrecking Ball. The worst thing about DSO is that, not being high budget, they don't really have good live videos.
Wow, never heard these guys but I'm sold too. Awesome stuff. This is what my ideal of virtuosic humor mixed with genuinely good songwriting sounds like.
This probably the video by Bryan i've liked the most so far, both for DSO and the commentary/analysis during and after the song. Good analogies, nice depth in it and an uplifting amount of emotion. So glad to see you enjoy a recommended song this much as well.
Check out the band Vulkan (Sweden) who share the current drummer with Diablo Swing Orchestra. Their new album Technatura is one of the best prog albums of the year. Listen to This Visual Hex or The Royal Fallacy. Their previous releases are also quite good. Highly recommended!
One of my favourite bands. Every album and song is super unique and well crafted! Try Tap Dancer's Dilemma for straight up swing metal, Pitbull Revolution for some spanish influence, Lucy Fears the Morning Star for some epic heavy banger.
From Haken "The Cockroach King" should immediately jump on your list! Very much enjoyed this video. Expected you're gonna like DSO, but your enjoyment jumps even over to the viewers! That's great!
Getting your intro ready for your new gig with a death metal band? 🤘😀🤘 Oh man, what an absolute blast! Every moment of that was purely enjoyable. So clever, so talented, and as you mention they have the incredible ability to convey everything they want.
Another thing Diablo Swing Orchestra and Mr. Bungle have in common are their amazing bassists! If you want more DWO, I would recommend diving into Songs for the damned and delirious. To me it's the best representation of the band. The album with Superhero Jagganath was a big change in their sound.
This is one of the highlights from this band, but their whole output is just gorgeous! I'm really hyped for their next album. Great reaction as always!
Trepalium is pretty similar, a more straight metal band, but still with these brass swing elements added. sounds very new orleans. Moonshine Limbo is a good song with a music video to go with.
You should check the band "Devil Doll", here it is a little info from wikipedia "Devil Doll is an Italian-Slovenian experimental rock band formed in 1987 by the mysterious "Mr. Doctor". The band has gained a cult following, taking influences from gothic rock, classical and Slavonic folk music, and fronted by the sprechgesang of Mr. Doctor himself. The band is notable for very lengthy epics, none under 20 minutes". The shortest songs from them are Mr. Doctor and Eliogabalus (around 20 minutes long each).
One of my favourite bands. These guys are fantastic - though I think the most recent album is the weakest overall. But it's still an absolute ball! You should give a listen to Dog Fashion Disco. Perhaps a song like Moonlight City Drive or Sweet Insanity from their crowning achievement, Adultery, or perhaps something like The Acid Memoirs or War Party
Pffff ... I love your reaction!! This is an amazing band, maybe you can react to one of their oldest songs like "Balrog Boogie" from their first Album "Butchers Ballroom". After that you can check "A Tap Dancer Dilemma" from their second album "Sing Along Song for Damned and delirous", so you can appreciated the evolution that this band have been developed and their gender is catalogated as Advant Garde Metal. Belive you me, it totally worths! Also they are working in a new album. If you like this guys, you should listen to "Thank you Scientist" with "Feed the horses" or "New Moon", the will blow your mind too. Great video.
So happy to see this band receive some love! You can try polkadot cadaver and dog fashion disco if you want more fun wacky stuff. You can start with Polkadot Cadaver - Phantom Limb I believe.
Avantgarde at it's best imo. So easy to get into this genre with this band. They rendered their style so accessible that everyone can get into it. They're masters. Also, they were more metal at their start. If you decide to give them another go, maybe try "Lucy fears the morning star"?
Always loving your critiques to all these unique bands. I would love to hear your opinion of Little Tybee just to switch things up a bit. You’d probably like More Like Jason by them; I don’t think it’ll disappoint you.
Hahaha! First video of yours I watched, known DSO for long and loved your reaction. Maybe try listening to Estradasphere too if you haven't already! Cheers from Portugal
You definitely should check Pin-Up Went Down or Chenille (alt. name öOoOoOoOoOo), they have female vocals with lots of experiments (Asphodel sings in both bands).
I'm a year younger than you; I discovered them at around 20/21 when "Sing along songs for the damned and delirious" came out I've hoped they became more popular in the hopes they make more material than every 3-6 years - Due to the flaws in this "genre" and how the recommendations systems work - the closest I've come is Shining or Psychophagist and their "BlackJazz"
Good pick, my favourite DSO song. Pacifisticuffs (which this is on) came out 2017 so still pretty new. If you want something else slightly in the same vein (influenced by mr. bungle for instance) check out Troldhaugen from Australia. Folk metal or as they put it on their bandcamp "Wacky dudes with crazy tunes" BMX Terminator is a good pick from them :)
All songs from album Pandora's Piñata are amazing. Their first album, Butcher's Ballroom is fun. Sing Along Songs For The Damned & Delirious is a thumb up
I would recommend you check out the Band "We Lost the Sea" possibly with Challenger Part I and II If you want to take the time. Another nice option is The Last Dive of David Shaw.
If you like that kind of cheeky music you must check out a band called Toehider. It's one guy Mike Mills who plays everything and he just kills it. I'd suggest the songs "The Thing With Me" and " Whoa!" Oh, or "Whatever Makes You Feel Superior" I'd love to hear you do Symphony X, the song "To Hell and Back" Thank you! Love your reviews.
Hey can you check out Behemooth by the Moulettes? They are an up and coming band that blend like acapella and string instrumentation and rock, their harmonization is up there with System of a Down.
This is one of the few bands I can dance (apart from headbanging). You may not call it "dancing", but I do. I suggest you react to Lady Clandestine Chainbreaker. It hasn't been mentioned and it is a completely different ride.
Didn't know these guys were still kicking. Haven't heard them since probably like '07. Anyway as a response I'm gonna recommend something that's the opposite of fun. "DO YOU DOUBT ME TRAITOR" by Lingua Ignota.
Their first female singer is opera singer and previous albums have different vibes. New DSO era began with the latest album and they almost finished the 2nd album with Kristin. Hope it will be released in 2020!
Maybe you'd be interested in listening to Blotted Science. His song Synaptic Plasticity is probably his best work. And always at least semi notable for just being the one guy doing all the instruments and composition.
Please react to Dirty Granny Tales - The Trip, it is not metal but perhaps you will like it, it has a very nice sound. BTW, you will have a good trip with DSO discography
this was way more avant garde and weird than a lot of their earlier stuff. you should really listen to Balrog Boogie. it's my alarm clock in the morning.
