One hell of a band. Alot of their songs have common elements but they often have their own thing in them to make them stand out. The real variance is album by album. They're all wildly different. Of feathers and flesh actually came with a book. And it's full of great songs.
such an underrated band, I love these guys so much one of the main bands that are on my playlist together with Devin Townsend, Jinjer, trivium, and mastodon. Johannes is such an amazing vocalist, and the rest of the guys are fantastic musicians.
I don’t know why I’ve never listened to this. It’s such a fun song. Harmonica, wacky random sounds, groovy riffs, tasty bass lines, awesome layered vocals, what a wild ride.
What a wild track! I don't remember the first song you heard, but this one definitely made me interested in checking out more from them. If I'm being hyper-critical, I might say the more straight-forward metal sections (like the "good morning" chorus) are a bit generic, but there's so many surprises and interesting touches that it keeps it fresh, and yet every surprise feels like a logical development rather than just being novelty for the sake of novelty. Fun stuff.
More reaction to Avatar, please!)) Black Waltz is Renaissance of the band, first three album was just melodic death. They love experiments with sound and have different songs. For example, For the Swarm - strong vibes of SOAD, Let it Burn and The King Welcomes you to Avatar Country - elements of country style, Black Waters is a blues. Tower sounds to me like Every Breath you Take by The Police.)) Tooth, Beak & Claw is a surf rock. House of Eternal Hunt is a european power metal. When All But Force Has Failed - punk. Legend of the King and The King Wants You - classic heavy. Colossus - industrial, what very symbolical.
Some Swedes to match the Norwegians 😁 Great track that I don't believe I've heard before. Did catch them live some years ago and they're really something special!
I think I need to hear more of Avatar to get a better feel for them. Everything I've heard so far is so distinct and I can't quite nail down a "sound" for them. Their theatric writing does seem like it would make for really great live shows though.
For me, the "Sound" of Avatar is not so much conected with an specific style or Album. I think it's because they don't take themselves to serious and do what they want to do. But they are serious about the music, if they come up with something silly, they do it in the best posible way. They worte an Album about an inside joke
yooo unrelated af but I guess it's not bad to share I have known about people being unsubscribed randomly to channels but never happened to me when I came to catch up with the uploads something red and unfamiliar caught my attention, I looked at it and to my surprise a big "SUBSCRIBE" button was the source of the red color well I am officially resubscribed lol
