Props to whoever recommended Physics House Band, they're sadly not very well known but IMO have extremely well made music (and diverse too!). They have added a brass player in their latest deliveries as well. If you want to listen to something in a similar line I recommend checking Milk +, "Nothing is wrong" or "Rio Phasma" from their debut Zeropolis would hit the spot. You might have a hard time finding it on spotify though, but it's uploaded here in the Tube.

fantastic! Drummer stood out here for me, reminded me of some of Ian Paice's drumming, particularly his live stuff like Mandrake Root Live

The drumming kind of reminded me of the film Whiplash. The bass and guitar were also sic-and everything fit together perfectly! I’ve never heard of this band before, but I’m smitten-going to find more of their stuff after this vids over! Thank you, to the requester, and you Bryan.

Wow, this was phenomenal. It's like an instrumental The Mars Volta without any of the questionable parts lol

Great band...cool to see you checking them out. They have not yet put out a record that I don't like.

Really cool stuff! Would have wished for some alternating riffs though. The prominent one was very good indeed and well worth massive utilisation, but I couldn't rid myself from an all too repetitive feel.

Definitely a cool trip. The beginning reminded me so much of Opeth in its dark harmonies I can't help but wonder if they were an influence, but then it evolves into a strange blend of mathy psychedelia with some quasi-prog and jazzy touches. About my only complaint is I might wish for a bit more hooks or groove, but that would probably turn the piece into something it isn't. Still quite excellent for what it is. Your analogy between speedy solos and speed reading made me think considering my average reading speed is between 400-600 words-per-minute depending on the difficulty of the text, and that's with me fully comprehending what's happening (I can go faster if I'm just wanting to the get the gist of what I'm reading), yet I know some people who would hear reading that fast as gibberish. I wonder if there's a similarity with solos, that some people have no issue following the speed and still feeling the story while others get lost in the flurry of notes.

I'll say this from my own perspective, there is definitely a speed where the technical complexity drowns out the musical complexity and I can no longer discern smaller ideas; musical concepts on the per note level. My understanding then would require a slowed down version or sheet music.
